Not yet ready for prime time
This unit has a decent knife(albeit small)and light, but the whistle is not nearly loud enough to be effective, and I am completely stumped by the tinder compartment which i am unable to open. The inadequate instructions with the unit are no help. i suspect the push button on the side somehow opens the tinder compartment - perhaps my unit is defective You can easily assemble items of equivalent bulk which actually work to complete the tasks for which this item is intended. The previous review is incorrect. The knife includes a screwdriver which capably opens the battery compartment. No need for knife tips....
Useless
The fire starter is very hard to get out. The easiest way is to use the tip of the knife. The batteries and tinder are held in by tiny screws- again only accessed by the tip of the knife. So the screws will get lost for sure and the tip of the knife will get worn down. Very bad design. I need to unscrew small screw to get at tinder? No thanks.
????? And !!!!!
I read the other reviews but I got it anyway. Honestly I think they were just lazy. The tinder container is tight but it’s water proof so I like it. Light works strong and flint striker works good too. It does need better instructions tho
