Rated 1 out of 5 by from Atrocious Customer Service I double ordered the bag by accident. I tried several times prior to shippment to cancel the double order. I called, as required for some bizarre reason, in my attempts to cancel. Nobody ever picked up the line. They shipped the double order 3 days after I tried to cancel. So, of course, I had to pay for return shipping for the refund. That was 20 days ago, I still have not received my refund. This was my 3 bag from Timbuk2, they're pretty good bags. Their quality is not outweighed however by their poor service. There are other messenger bag companies, I will not return to Timbuk2 for any other item because of how poor the customer service is.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great Bag - Strap too short I have a number of Timbuk2 products from the D-Lux, Classic to iPad sleeves, etc. Most of the improvements and improvements for the 2014 Classic Messenger are great. FINALLY! ears that keep the elements out of the ends of the bag. Love the cordura, it is an improvement over the ballistic nylon. The new buckles with the compression straps look very nice. And now the bad: the strap is way too short. I am only 5'9" and the bag rides almost entirely above my hip. Taking the bag off does mess your hair up. I have the small, and have returned the X-small. The length of the strap is almost a deal killer for me. While the bag is very nice, it does not carry as well as my other Timbuk2 or Rickshaw bags.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Smaller, less practical than older model Was going to give 2 stars.... giving 1 now because the review pages are so f'd up on here. It's taken me 30 minute to write a review because the submit button never renders properly. I've loved my 10 year old messenger bag and decided to upgrade. Though the 2014 bag is a downgrade -everything is smaller. Main compartment, internal compartments, everything -internal storage is less practical, and small pockets are too tight to hold much of anything. -water bottle holder is too small and too tight. It's a joke. It takes two hands to insert a water bottle. The extra features are well intentioned, but timbuk2 missed the mark

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Look like an adult on campus I have searched for a backpack that didn't look like I stole it from a teenager. That is harder than it seems. I wanted something that was simple, practical, had lots of pockets, and a place to hold my water bottle and coffee tumbler. This is it. It has enough room for my tablet, my books, and my lunch containers. (Granted my books are not the typical huge college texts.) I'm 5'6" and chose the small. I think it fits well and is not too big/small. I actually have come to use this everyday as a purse, leaving those actual $$ purses at home. Overall I'm very happy with my purchase, and come grad school, I might be back for a larger one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best "purse" I've ever bought. I might just get rid of all my other purses completely. Perfect number and size of inside pockets. My 11" MacBook Air *almost* fits in the XS bag's slash pocket (I knew it wouldn't) but it *does* fit in the larger front pocket area! I've decided to make a felt slipcover for the MBP so I can use this as a laptop bag when I don't take my Small messenger (which easily fits my laptop). I like the key clip ribbon but I have to unclip it every time I drive. For biking and walking, it's perfect. I love this bag so much, I can't wait to travel with it. Oh! And the slash pocket fits standard size graphic novel TPBs! *nerd joy* :D

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just got my new bag today.... I just got my new bag today in the mail. It is absolutely fantastic. It is my second messenger bag from Timbuk2. Got my first one about two or three years ago. I liked it but never was a big fan of the buckle or the many little pockets on the inside. I rather have a more simple bag, like the new one. I like the light weight of the bag, eventhough, I do have to get used to it, the older one was quite heavy in comparison. It feels way better than my old bag! The only disadvantage it the waterbottle pocket, t does not fit my 1lNalgene, but I really like the new bag with all the upgrades, I am planning on using this bag for at least 10 years......

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Bag This is a nice bag, though some of the updates seem to be changes that I wouldn't have made. For example, the shift to a one-pocket design under the flap from a tiered set of pockets means less organization. There was something nice about having those three there. My only major complaint is that the strap is too short. It seems as if they've removed a good deal of available slack in this edition. With the cam undone and all slack used, it is still tighter than I'd like and I'm not a particular big person. I'm undecided on whether to return this because of the inadequate strap length.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from terrible customer service The bag is great, no complaints. That said, terrible customer service. My bag didn't arrive by the last possible shipping date. Tried contacting the company via email--no response (still no response a month later). Tried calling--no one ever answers the phone apparently and you can't even leave a message. Finally contacted the shipper but they say they will only communicate with the company that shipped, not the receiver. They at least launched a missing package search and my bag finally showed up but if it hadn't guess I would still be waiting to hear from someone at TIMBUK2.
