Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for use with Katadyn BeFree filter Combined with the BeFree water filter, this makes a great gravity filter. It comes with loops to attach cord or webbing to hang the bottle from a tree branch. It has a wider mouth than soft bottles from Platypus, Sawyer, and Evernew, making it much easier to fill from a stream or lake. I did experience the taste issue another review noted, but I was able to get rid of this with a thorough washing. Put in a small amount of soap and water, and scrub the bottle by rubbing the sides together. Then rinse several times to get rid of the soap. This took care of the taste issue for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Camping/Backpacking MUST-JAVE This was a great purchase for my recent backpacking trip and used with a filtration system at camp for extra water. It held 3L of the water that I froze ahead of time so it was ready to drink and refill while at camp. It’s super durable and lightweight when filled, but even lighter and more compact when empty. It collapses into a little storage bag it comes with so it didn’t take up any room in my pack. I did love that I could also attach it to my pack or hang from a tree limb if I wanted to. I won't camp or backpack without it, it's a must-have for me and my family. Great purchase, highly recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Doesn't get better than this This water storage bag is bar none the best in its class, and people I BUY GEAR! I own MSR, Platypus, Camelbak, and many other brands that I have tested thoroughly over the years and although I've had some GOOD quality products I have never had a GREAT product like this! I liked it so much after 2 trips I went to the Hydrapak site and bought another reservoir and and pump set up to test out. I very rarely write reviews without giving at least one con or neg mark but unless this thing springs a leak for no reason it's got a perfect 10-10 from me!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I needed I needed a long, skinny, flexible water container to fit in the small hatch/small space in my touring kayak. I bought two of these and they worked flawlessly. No leaks at all and they fit the space perfect. Pouring water from them takes a little practice, but it's not difficult. I transferred water to my nalgene containers easily, and after empty these water containers fold up into tiny stuff sacks. I did not detect any weird taste with my Hydrapaks. I rinsed them once with hot water before use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Makes for a happy camp life I have only used this bladder on one trip so far(once per night for three nights). I bought it to go with my water filtration kit. I am able to fill my regular hydration bladder and bottle (if necessary) when I get to camp/the water source. than I can fill this bladder to use around camp for dinner and breakfast so I don't have to fill up my primary hydration more than once each fill up. the bladder is lightweight and compact, so far it has done everything I wanted of it, though I wouldn't feel super comfortable using it as a primary water bottle, but for my use it has been great!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Misses the mark I was backpacking at a forest that had water cisterns, so I wanted a means of holding a larger amount of water for my camp. I was looking at an MSR drom bag but saw this. I liked its smaller size and it came with a small bag to pack it in, plus was cheaper, so I opted for this instead. For just collecting water, it serves its purpose, but that's about it. Once full, it's difficult to handle, as it is soft sided and flops around in your hands. It only has a large screw off cap, so it is tedious to try and pour water out of it into a water bottle or cooking pot, especially when full.. It takes steady hands/arms to pour it without having water slosh all over the place. Was very disappointed with the buy and returned it after I got back. Opted for the drom bag with the spigot cap, so we'll see if that does better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent bottle with excellent warranty I bought the 3L reservoir because that's the only size REI currently sells. I'd prefer the 1L or 2L but the weight different is minimal so I went with the larger even though I'll probably rarely need to fill it all the way up. While it appears so light as to be flimsy, it's actually very tough and durable. I have the 2L MSR DromLite which appears more sturdy it's also twice as heavy for less volume and doesn't pack away as small. The Hydrapak also has more connection points than the MSR. I like the MSR but the features of the Hydrapak has won me over. Somehow my Hydrapak did develop a tiny pinhole leak which I believe was either some freak accident or a manufacturing defect because I can't imagine how I could have poked a hole in this even if I tried. I contacted the manufacturer and I got a reply in 30 minutes saying a replacement was on the way. I love buying at REI because of their return policy but this manufacturer really stands by their product above and beyond.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Plastic Taste Bought this because it seemed like a handy shape. Washed out 6 times, and let another 6 fillings of clean water soak/rise. Still had a very strong plastic flavour. Stick with the big platypus bags.

How durable/ sturdy is this product? Is it really as thin as it is advertised?

The Seeker 3L Reservoir is .025mm thick. It is durable despite how thin the material is.

can the cap be attached to the bag? I'd worry about losing the cap if i decided to leave a BeFree filter connected.

Asked by: steve
The cap is not attached to the bag and is free floating if unscrewed.

Is there another cap available to purchase with a pop out spout to for drinking or filling a cup with ease instead of taking the whole cap off?

HydraPak does have a sport cap with a bite valve available for purchase on their website that can be used to replace the cap on this reservoir.
