Sizing notes

TALL: Some shirts, pants and jackets are available in tall sizes, which generally means an inseam that is 3 inches longer and a rise that is 1 inch longer, a shirt or jacket body that is 2 inches longer and sleeves that are 2 inches longer than regular sizes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Only pants you will need. This is my second pair of Freedom Pants. I buy the insulated version. First, they come in sizes that fit! I am short, and love that I can find ski gear made for me. Love the precise waist sizes- I just lost 30 pounds, and lost 6 inches in my waist. Loved that I could go from 36 to 32. They keep me warm with just base layer long underwear. The venting is brilliant for spring skiing. At age 53, the storage space is a must, carrying reading glasses, phone, medications, etc.... The product lasts forever, the zippers work great, they make skiing pleasant. If/when I gain my weight back. I'll have the other pair waiting for me!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Decent Ski Pants I have instructed in these ski pants for the past 3 seasons and so far they have held up exceptionally well except for around the boot guard where the stitching has fallen apart for the past 2 seasons and every attempt I have made to fix it have failed. It maintains it's water resistance up until the heaviest rain and several lift rides. I do like the front thigh pocket and the ventalation is above average. Overall for the price a good ski pant that will last a few seasons.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great find after much searching After trying on many different brands and styles this was head and shoulders above the rest. The pant offers great waterproofing while not compromising on a relaxed fit for easy movement snowboarding or ski-Ing. I didn't want insulated pants so I had more freedom to move and while I thought this might be a problem in very cold weather they excelled during the snow storms and wind chills in Indiana 2014, with wind chills reaching -45f. I didn't feel anything coming thru the pant... They were great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Freedom Snow Pants Not only is North Face the only snow gear that we wear, it is the most comfortable and most durable. These snow pants were purchased as a Christmas gift, however, with all the snow we have gotten in Lake Tahoe, they were opened earlier to get some use on the mountain. My boyfriend came home that night and said I love these snow pants. The weather conditions were icy, snowy and wet, and he said everything beaded up on his NEW snow pants and snow jacket (both from North Face) and he was completely dry. (whereas his buddy wasn't so dry). We highly recommend not only these snow pants, for comfort, dryness, warmth, etc but also all North Face snow gear is true to its description and product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from freedom pant I'm a little hard to fit, yet these do it just fine. My butt is small and legs are extra long. These in the medium/long fit great. I like the pockets at a slight angle, upper leg vents and the simple lining. Warm yet flexible without bulk.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from affordable, high quality weather proof pants I purchased these pants for my boyfriend as a Christmas gift. We didn't wait until the actual day to open them, since we are on a ski trip now (week before). So far he has had nothing but good things to say about these pants. They are lightweight but warm, waterproof but breathable. Perfect to layer with, and easy to tuck into his snow boots. My only issue was that the waist on the Medium (long) was a little large but, then again, he is a tall and slim guy. Might have just been his narrow waist. Purchased in the "Asphalt Grey" and they match well with a lot. Will be purchasing again in the near future!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice Pant but I have reservations I will start with I love that The North Face makes ski pants that don't have too much extra thigh space. Unfortunately these went a little too far the other way. I am 5'4", 120lbs and the waist and length were great but the thigh/butt were too tight in the small I also bought a pair of the NFZ Pant in a small and they fit great through the thigh/butt. I was also disappointed with the thigh pocket. Although it would hold your items securely it makes them difficult to access quickly. I use these as work pants at a ski area and wanted the thigh pocket for easy access to employee schedules and my phone. But, the pocket is too difficult to access quickly (con for me, pro for valuables:)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from TOP QUALITY Right out of the box i could feel the quality in the pants and after close inspection i was sure these were a good first time purchase from TNF. The first test was a couple days ago in Black Hawk, CO with 6" of snow & 25MPH wind with just a base layer and the freedom pants i was just fine heat wise and my mobility was as if i was in just my base layer, look no further these are the snow pants for winter.

Would these be good pants to snowshoe in?

Asked by: rocky mountain gunner
Yes, these would be a fine choice for pants to use for snowshoeing.

I don't understand the sizing. The text says the inseam is 30." The Sizing Chart shows 31.5" as the shortest inseam (for size S) and 32.5" inseams for sizes L and XL. So which is it for sizes L and XL - 30" or 32.5"?

Asked by: Hardscrabble
All the sizes here have a 30" inseam. The size chart is The North Face's size chart for all their men's clothing that do not have a specific inseam size in the title.

I just received my 30" length, medium Freedom pants. They are absolutely huge. If I measure the inside band of the waist with a garment measuring tape at its full extension (no velcro cinching), they measure almost 36". Did I get M or L? How do I fix?

Asked by: Kwizzman
If the pants are measuring at 36 inches, you received a large. For a resolution, please contact us at 1-800-426-4840.
