Sizing notes

TALL: Some shirts, pants and jackets are available in tall sizes, which generally means an inseam that is 3 inches longer and a rise that is 1 inch longer, a shirt or jacket body that is 2 inches longer and sleeves that are 2 inches longer than regular sizes.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not as described Seems well made, quite windproof and probably (?) useful in light rain. But I returned it because the fit is not at all 'streamlined' as described. The tag actually says 'relaxed fit', which is indeed what it is. As a slim, athletic person, it hangs off me. The 'high rise grey heather' is a completely different color than what is depicted online. And while the fabric is probably good as a light jacket by itself, it's rather odd and stiff and not versatile enough to layer under anything else (perhaps with the relaxed fit, layering things underneath this would be a better plan, but not what I was looking for). Disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Jacket This is my 2nd Apex jacket. The first one I wore for 3 years for everything here in the Northwest, wind, rain, snow, etc. It's warm without all of the bulk. The jacket stands up to the wind, snow and rain remarkably well. In the wintertime I wear a long sleeved shirt with it and I'm very comfortable down to 25 degrees. The only improvement I would highly recommend for this jacket is to make the sleeves a bit looser, and make it waterproof instead of water resistant. I've owned quite a few rather expensive jackets in my life, but none of them held a candle to this one. It would be a big mistake not to try one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for tracking squirrels! I am a professional squirrel tracker that routinely wanders off the beaten path in search of the big one. Before you think I am hunting the squirrels I must say that I am doing this to befriend them. This jacket keeps me warm and dry on even the coldest and wettest nights in the wilds of central North Carolina. After purchasing this jacket I have seen an exponential increase in the size of my circle of small mammal friends. I am able to track longer, faster and higher. Thanks Northface. I couldn't have done it without you!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Ruined one of the best products by TNF TNF ruined once of their most iconic jackets by removing such a simple thing as the velcro sleeves. This is the one thing that for people who actually use their jackets both in urban and outdoor settings, it matters greatly. I've hiked up the sleeves while cross country skiing, tightened them to make them windproof on High Sierra mountain tops, adjusted them to fit perfectly over a watch and sleeve when on a night on the town. Now TNF is no different than jackets from every other company with elastic cuffs that will ultimately stretch and ruin the fit and function. It's not a jacket I can depend on and will not buy another one. The rubber vs embroidered logo is not a big deal but it just shows TNF is trying to extract ever dollar out of the jacket now instead of making it a jacket worthy of your dollars.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Old School prudycts were better quality! I love this jacket, very comfortable, stretches with your movement. North Face is getting cheap, the logos are not stitched as in the past, they are merely stamped in rubber and look cheap! I buy North Face since I like their styles but I expect the old school quality. I wish they would offer more in extended sizes. Since many styles I like only come in 2x I am often forced to buy Columbia! Come on North Face quit cutting corners and stitch your logos! Please offer more choices and sizes in the extended size department even if by special order and you will add to your sales!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bring back the old Apex Bionic I own several Apex Bionic jackets and vests. The Bionic 2 feels and looks cheap compared to the old ones. What happened to the Velcro wrist closers? No embroidered North Face logo. My first Bionic jacket and vest even had Apex embroidered on the bottom. Orvis makes a very similar jacket and vest that are much higher quality and are less expensive. I have been buying North Face gear for decades and have seen the quality drop dramatically over the past several years. I will be spending my gear dollars else where until the quality improves

Rated 5 out of 5 by from tnf apex bionic jacket (new fit) version I brought my first apex bionic in 2008 & i admit this is a get jacket. I can wear this jacket in three out of the four seasons. In the winter i just wear a hoodie underneath & i am warm. The 2014 version of this jacket is the same thing as the older version but the only difference betwwen the two are to me is it fit slimmer a little tighter but i like that so in cold conditions it keeps you warmer & other is the chest pocket is really smaller than the older version. It can only fit your keys, ipod mp3 player or a small phone just one item at a time. But at least in the newer jacket it does have a headphone hole inside the chest pocket so u can protect the wire of your headphones wire. Overall another great jacket by tnf. I hope this review helps & be safe.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Fit Jacket This is the exact winter jacket I been looking for awhile. The fitting on this really good. I got the TNF Black/TNF Black/Biking Red. The red sport trim isn't that bright red but a darker shaded one. I'm about 6'1 and weigh about 190lbs, and I'm some what slim fit body and the Medium is perfect. Its feels glued to your body. Very lite weight and material smooth and clean. I highly recommend this product to anyone wanting a slim fit winter jacket.

Would a 3 xl be big enough for a tall average weight 6' 10" man??

Asked by: syc777
We recommend taking your chest and arm length measurement, then comparing to the size chart for confirmation on sizing.

What are the differences between the Bionic 1 and Bionic 2? Thanks.

Asked by: O-Dawg
The only update between the original and the Apex Bionic 2 is the design of the jacket. The two jackets fit the same, but the fabric was cut a little differently on the Apex Bionic 2.
