My favorite coat

I bought this coat about two years ago and I love it. It is very versatile. Even with the liner in, it has a light feel. It will not by itself keep you warm in sub-zero temperatures. However, the coat is light and roomy enough that you can wear extra layers underneath without it feeling uncomfortable. The outer layer is windproof and water proof, so it is good in the rain or on a cold and windy day. I have worn it a few times for skydiving when it was extremely cold at altitude. Importantly, it feels roomy and light and does not restrict range of motion. It also packs fairly small into a backpack and makes a great pillow on a long flight.

Nothing quite like a Thermoball Jacket for Christmas!!

I saw this jacket last July and loved it. However, the Thermoball isn't really a July kind of coat. However, I asked family members for gift certificates so I could buy one for Christmas. Christmas came and sure enough...gift certificates for North Face! The next day I went to the store to buy it, but they were sold out of my size. The guy that assisted me said they were very popular, but that if I wanted to order one while I was in the store, the shipping would be free! I went for it. 4 days later, my jacket arrived and I have worn it every day since. Light weight, incredibly warm, waterproof...perfect for January storms! Can't beat it!

The perfect everything jacket!

The first time I used this product was during a ski trip. I wanted something that can be layered and multi use. I took off the outer layer to go to a local pub and was very appealing to some ladies at the bar. When I got to the ski resort I put the outer lay back on in a flash and it withstood all of my failed attempts of snowboarding. I must have fell at least 30 times that day and not one scratch, tear or sign of wear formed on the jacket. The jacket is very high quality and fashionable and I cannot wait to take it on my next outdoor or indoor adventure.

Men's Thermoball Triclimate Jacket

To start off since we purchase our merchandise through their site, North Face's website was very easy to navigate and shop, the user experience was wonderful! The Find your Size App was awesome, really helps you dial in just what size to get! As far as the thermomball jacket, AWESOME! this is by far the best winter jacket i have ever owned! Light, not bulky and WARM! Wind and water resistant. It barely feels like a jacket when wearing. All the layers on their own are wonderful too! The Thermoball liner is such a great jacket on its own, even in 10-20deg weather. All-around great jacket, great price! Would buy another in a heartbeat!

Understand the Thermoball Triclimate Jacket

I purchased this jacket because I was tired of spending money and cheaper quality and bulky jackets. Enter the NORTHFACE TRICLIMATE Jacket. It was what I was looking for: lightweight, windproof, and waterproof. But this is what you need to understand, "This jacket is primary focus are active people." The Triclimate technology will be odd for those that are not used to it. Most people expect jackets to increase body temperature, but this jacket maintains the heat. What does that mean? This is not a "cozy" jacket like a fleece, wool, or goose feather. There is this constant state of "cool" that transpires in the jacket whether its 60 degrees or 33 degrees with wind and rain or even it being 20 degrees outside. I purchased my father a Nuptse Jacket also from Northface. It is filled with goose feather, lightweight, but bulkier than the Triclimate Thermoball. You are not susceptible to the weather, you are sufficiently comfortable, but it is different. With all that said, "I LOVE MY JACKET." I love detaching the inner Thermoball insulation and use it for a brisk day or use the Goretex outer layer if all you want is Wind/WaterProof. Now, there are times that I miss the heat and there is a simple solution: longsleeve shirts or a fleece sweater. That has solved my issue when I wish the jacket felt warmer and still retain the ease and comfort traveling with such a lightweight jacket. To put it another way, when the jacket arrived I didn't know it was a jacket based on how light the box weighed.

Perfect jacket for Chicago weather

Before I bought this jacket, I accidentally purchased a different one and when I called customer service to help me exchange the original one I bought for this one, Paula at customer service was wonderful! She made it super easy for me to exchange! I bought this jacket as a gift for my boyfriend and he absolutely loves it and wears it everyday. We live in Chicago and it is perfect for the type of weather we constantly deal with. My boyfriend also wanted a jacket that could keep him warm without the goose down because he is vegan and this jacket fits that category. I would recommend this jacket for very cold weather conditions as well as for anyone who is vegan.

Good product for budget hiker

Received this as a gift to replace my old North Face winter coat / my old hiking layer system. Super light weight for the warmth took it for a 10 mile hike yesterday and it kept me warm when it dropped to 20 degrees also walked the dogs in 14 degree weather with inner layer and thin tee and felt fine (disclaimer I do run warm usually). The Thermoball isn't as quality as a standard Thermoball jackets more specifically the sleeves but on a budget its fine. The zippers do stick a bit and haven't tested it in the rain yet but for light hikers who don't have a huge budget or someone who doesn't like bulky coats its great.

Best coat I have ever owned

I have had this coat for almost a year now. I can honestly say this coat has shocked me in many ways! The first time I got my hands on one I thought to my self, "their is absolutely no way this light thing can keep you warm in below freezing temperatures." It proved me wrong, this coat I can wear with just a tshirt underneath and be warm in freezing temperatures. Just recently I used the outer liner only as a rain jacket and it worked perfect! It was pouring out and I had to walk about 10 minutes outside and when I got back inside I was completely dry. I would recommend this coat to anyone!

Just right!

The North Face Thermoball Triclimate jacket is really a perfect jacket for all occasions. It looks sharp for around town and to work. The inner layer, a synthetic puffy zip up looks sharp on it's own, is wind proof, warm but still breathable so you don't overheat. The shell is amazingly waterproof - with an El Nino year dropping inches of rain, I could care less if I forget my umbrella so long as I'm wearing my Thermoball Triclimate. Combine both with an easy zip in system and you have a jacket the has features of a much bulkier garment but still fits comfortably and feel like a favorite sweatshirt. The fit, versatility and good looks of the North Face Thermoball Triclimate jacket are a win-win-win.
