I just received delivery of the HOKA ONE ONE's today. The firm yet comfortable soles have a nice roll built into them. Walking around the house; they feel sporty and flexible while also providing protection from penetration from trail rocks. The problem is that these shoes are built very narrow at the balls of my feet and the height of the toe box is so small it is almost painful just to stand in them. The shoes are the proper size yet my toes are constricted. I am sending them back and looking for another shoe.
I have over 300 miles on a pair of these, and still going. I've had them on very technical trails, light snow, mud, creek crossings, you name it. I am amazed at the durability of these shoes. I've ordered a 2nd pair just to have for the far off date that these wear out! Getting to run my 2nd 50k in these, and think they will last through my training and 3rd 50k of the year next month too!
My 3 rd paid of Hoka but my first trail sneaker from them, started doing more trail running and put about 50 miles on these guys so far, I did get a bigger size due to getting colder and want to put thicker socks on. No blister , or hot spots. Might grab another pair if they go on sale.
Very comfortable shoe but grey mesh tears easy (within 100 miles of running) and have hole after 150. No rock plate so doesn't offer great protection on rough, technical trails but most of what I run is not too rugged so that was a non issue for me
