Love the shoe. Stable. Helps with gate, back, Plantar Fasciitis. However, build quality is horrible. Within a month, cracks formed around the outer edge of the seam. Heal formed hole. This is my second pair. I thought my first was just a "lemon". Not even used for trail running. I only wear them for easy daily hikes and dog parks. Would I purchase again? Yes. I bought another pair and rotate wearing them. Really hope Hoka improves their build quality.
These Hokas are superbly comfortable shoes. I use these on walks and hiking. I purchased the Casterock/Cabernet color as this most closely matches my university's colors. They will worn when I march with the Alumni Marching Band and when I attend other university functions. Of course, I'll continue to wear these while out hiking.
After 25 miles, shoes fell apart. I'm not sure who's making these shoes, but it appears they've been put together with Elmer's glue. Seems to be a common problem with this model. Don't waste your time with these, and I'm a big Hoka fan too.
Very disappointing quality. I loved my first pair of speed goats by Hoka. I put them thought the ringer and wore them until they were smooth on the bottom. I decided to replace with a pair of Stinson because I liked the cushion. The first pair started falling apart after 2 weeks the soles were separating. I returned them to REI and they shipped me a new pair, The new pair started coming apart almost immediately as well. Unfortunately I just decided to wear them as I don't want to be that customer, and hoped the would hold up. These shoes are now unwearable after 8 months. Something has clearly changed at Hoka as far as quality but they remain at a premium price. I reached out to Hoka and they said I would need to mail them in for warranty approval. After 8 months of wearing them there's no guarantee that will be approved. When paying 180 for a pair of shoes I hoped they would last at least a year hopefully more. It is hard to find companies that truly stand behind what they make and put out a quality product these days, and Hoka does not. Unless you want to spend time and money shipping your new shoes around the country I would avoid!
I wanted to love these shoes but they are not good for trail running may be for every day use if that, I had a wood stick go right through the sole and this was the first time I wore them on the trail I would love to add pics but this site won't let me and my previews review fas not posted overpriced to my opinion.
Been wearing stinson atrs for a few years now and gone through severely pairs of different years. I'm usually pretty happy with the shoe but let down by recent issues. My last pair started to come apart at a seam when it was almost new. Never had this happen before. Maybe quality control has gone down. They wanted me to ship it back to them at my expense for store credit. Nah I'm good. I'll return to rei and stop buying this brand. For the high price of these shoes you should expect atheist basic quality control to be met or provide support. Not happy with purchase and will buy a different brand in the future.
These shoes start out great, and padding and comfort are excellent; however, the materials in the heel section wear out very quickly. I wear socks every time I wear these shoes, and after 6 months of intermittent wearing, I already have a hole in the heel materials. For the price of these shoes, I expect them to last longer and wear better than they do.
After just 3rd use of running, the upper side mesh tore and separated. Very disappointed. Now doing a warranty claim.
The build quality of the upper is bad. See picture.
GREAT SHOE! I bought these about 6 months ago taking them on my rim to rim hike of the Grand Canyon and they were incredibly comfortable throughout that hike and elevation. I just got back from an Adirondack trip that was much more technical with foot placement and just how rough it can be on your feet and again these shoes just came through with both comfort, support, and grip on the trail.
