better than buff. needs color

The REI wool looks better made and sturdier than Buff. The wool is softer. I have purchased 3 different Buff neck warmers, a light wt. wool, a printed wool and a reversible fleece/nylon. I would like to see more colors from REI. This gray is dull - charcoal or lighter gray would have worked.

NOT all wool

Although this product page and the cardboard hanger/packaging say 100% wool and make no mention of any other fibers, you can tell by touching it that this gaiter has synthetic fibers in it. Peek inside at the printed garment-information tag, and, lo and behold, it's actually 50% wool and 50% polyester. Definitely some misleading advertising (if not outright falsities) at play, and not at all what I usually expect from REI.

Perfect for Hiking

Bought this to have some insulation when hiking over the winter and for general use on cold days. Super comfortable and stuffs well into a jacket collar without being constricting. When worn up, it does a great job of blocking light wind and keeps my face and ears warm. I just wish there were more options for colors.

Makes walking the dog a lot easier!

I bought this when cold weather hit to make walking the dog more comfortable and it's quickly become indispensable. Much prefer it to a scarf to keep my neck warm. I pull it up over my chin or mouth when it's really freezing.

Merino Wool Liner Neck Gaiter

I purchased this gator because I volunteer outside weekly. When not wearing a hoodie my neck get cold. This merino wool liner neck gaiter with a light beanie help me to achieve the warmth and comfort level I need. I'd definitely recommend this gaiter to a friend.

Does what a neck gaiter shoud do

This gaiter does what I expected - keeps the cold out with right amount of stretch for around the neck, or up around the chin. Merino wool is comfortable next to the skin. It also has fire resistant property of natural fiber, unlike polyester (probably not a priority for outdoors, but I also wear it at work in the winter).
