Sizing notes

All sizing is based on body measurements.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Jacket...try on sizes to dial it in! Jacket fits well. 6ft 170, bought a large. Fits great around the shoulders/chest/sleeves, but the stomach area is baggy. Previously had bought the Uber layer and that was baggier in the torso, returned for the Winter Ferrosi. The ferrosi seems lightly more fitted. Medium sized in either jacket was way too tight. Plenty of insulation for winter hiking, which is what I bought it for. Two light layers layer well under it (wool base w/ Nike Sphere LS 1/4 zip). If the jacket had venting it would be nearly perfect for what I use it for! I won't complain though as I'm happy with the fit (besides torso area) and like the soft shell durability/weather protection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent jacket for cold weather bicycling Live in central Ohio and am biking all winter this year, to work, whatever. This jacket is perfect (for me, anyway)--lightweight, blocks wind, keeps me warn while riding, water repellent (though not completely waterproof). I've ridden comfortably in 20 degree and lower temperature weather. I don't need to layer up, and I wouldn't want to be any warmer than this jacket keeps me. Great fit for biking--longer arms, and hood stays on even in wind. All in all a very good jacket for biking. Also nice just for wearing around on moderately cold days.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice wind protection A nice soft shell with insulation that look good wearing around town. Repelled light rain well. A bit slim fitting, so you may want to size up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT Winter Camping Jacket I bought this to replace my down puffy jacket mostly because it is easier to care for than a down jacket. Sure, it's a little bit on the heavy and bulky side but I can put it in my home washing machine without much thought. It seems to run a little bit smaller than my other OR jackets but I'm sufficiently happy with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of the better slim fits Have not had extensive use yet but was looking for a knockabout jacket for travel. I'm 6'3, 44" chest, 33" waist and 37" sleeve length, 190lbs. This is one of the rare garments that actually fits me. Slightly short on the sleeves is all, but my arms are unusually long so I'll take it. Particularly like that the mid section is closely cut, avoiding the 'bow' of fabric one typically finds in front or back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fits snugly & allows freedom of movement. Love the coat. Fits well, keeps me warm & allows freedom of movement thru the shoulders. No small feat. Material is very soft & breathable. Great coat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatile Jacket I've found this to be excellent for cold weather cycling with the hood fitting comfortably under a helmet. All that's missing is reflective markings. Very windproof. Actually bought this for late season snow hiking and snow shoeing...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Jacket Passes Test with Good Grade Shortly after purchasing/receiving the jacket I experienced rain, high winds & cold weather. Thankfully, the jacket performed wonderfully & met/exceeded my expectations. Only minor concern is pockets run on small side.

How windproof is this jacket? I am hoping that it can block wind better than jackets such as the Patagonia Nano-Air or Arcteryx Atom LT.

Asked by: E. Stitsel
Outdoor Research does not provide a wind resistance rating for this jacket.

Two questions I was wondering if this jacket still has the ability to stuff into the pocket or did the addition of insulation take this feature away? Also, for alpine hikes or some summits, Mt. Hood or Adams would this be appropriate in a four layer kit

Asked by: Aetas
This jacket does not stuff into its left pocket. This is a great jacket for layering under a shell while hiking but, if you tend to run cold, you may need another insulating layer to stay warm while mountaineering.

Is this a good "around town" jacket for cold temperatures in the 20s?

Asked by: Ants
With the proper amount of layering underneath this jacket will meet your needs.

tried this jacket on in the store and need an XXL. Why is it not available in blue? This jacket seems to run fairly tight so it's not like XXL is really all that big. Very disappointed as I am not interested in boring black
