Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awkward, but very efficient. I went on a day hike last week, in a -6 C winter cold, and the water in the tube freezed after 10 minutes on the trail....... What a shame I couldn't drink, I was so thirsty! So I bought this insulated tubing and it works really well, the water flows normaly into the tubing. But, I agree with the other comments saying that it looks awkward and need that quick connection... It is a good product, but I think that Osprey should improve the design in order to be more user's friendly. But from my point of view, I think it is a good product because at least, my water didn't freeze up when I needed it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not buy! This item does not come ready to fit into the quick release system. If you have a bag that is quick release, this bag is not made to fit into it. Very unfortunate and very frustrating.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Really!!?? Charge $1 more and make it work with your packs! I got this for my Rev 6 pack. It is not compatible for 2 reasons. 1- the buckle on the strap is a different size (too big for Rev 6). 2- it has no magnet on the valve. Including both of these options can't cost more than $1. I guess only certain pack owners have interest in keeping their fluids cool and/or unfrozen. Disappointed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not worth the price. It's basically just an extra hose with some insulation around it. But the problem is that it doesn't come with all the parts, so you have to use some that are already on your own hose AND it doesn't come with detailed instructions to explain exactly what it is you're supposed to do with the extra strap/clip. If I don't return it, I'll probably just end up cutting that part off...it's just getting in the way.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Afterthought No magnet. Have to pull connection hose off existing bladder... should come with quick connect valve. Bulky buckle and awkward.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for freezing hikes Easy to put on my osprey pack (read the specifics - this hose fits on the newer models that are blue packs) and kept my water drinkable..What more can you want? :)

What is the difference between #1014720001 (Osprey Hydraulics Insulated Delivery) and #8464790001 (Osprey Insulated Hose with Bite Valve). Does the former not include a bite valve and the ladder does include a bite valve? If so, why are the both $24?

Asked by: REMc
Both styles have insulated hydration reservoir tubes with bite valves. Item 846479 is a slightly older version with a different style of bite valve. The design change on the bite valve had nothing to do with the function of the older style, so pricing has remained consistent.
