  • Long, slender, rectangular blade offers a gentle catch for higher cadence and less fatigue without sacrificing power
  • Buoyant deigned carbon blade creates an exceedingly light feel that pops from the water for effortless forward strokes and confident bracing
  • 10° shaft-to-blade offset keeps the blade more vertical through the power phase to benefit forward paddling, while giving the surfer a good compromise in the waves
  • Dihedral ridge down the middle of the power face allows for smooth and stable forward paddling; smooth back face is quiet and helps to make linking turning strokes easy
  • Impact- and abrasion- resistant edge guard is designed to be super thin, creating a knife like feel in the water
  • Mid-sized 95 blade suits those wanting to move more water and those of medium to larger stature
  • Full carbon construction optimizes flex and strength, providing a comfortable feel without sacrificing power or confidence

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light and solid. Great paddle This is the first SUP paddle I've owned, and I purchased to go with a SUP kit that included a basic three-piece paddle. If you've ever used any low-cost paddles you may noticed either some flutter when paddling hard or that the paddle is very heavy, as was the case with the paddle the came with my board. The saying is cheap, light, strong: pick two. The Werner Trance 95 paddle is certainly not cheap, but is exceedingly light and strong. I bought the longer of the 2-piece variants. The 2-piece design is a good compromise of simplicity and adjustability. The spring-loaded press pin system is simple and easy to use. Adjustments are easy on the water, and the paddle gets slightly shorter with the handle removed. I'd like to see the 3-piece version available on REI too.

How do I know what size I need. I am 6 ft.

In general, you want a paddle that’s 8"–12" taller than you as you stand fully upright. A longer paddle will give you more power and control in rough conditions, while a shorter paddle is ideal for flatwater conditions and beginning paddlers.
