Features

  • Long, slender, rectangular blade provides a more gentle catch that's easier on the body and allows a higher cadence with less fatigue—without sacrificing blade size or power
  • Buoyant carbon blade offers a light feel that pops from the water for effortless forward strokes and confident bracing; it's also impact and abrasion resistant
  • Dihedral ridge down the middle of the power face allows for smooth, stable forward paddling; smooth back face is quiet and helps make linking turning strokes easy
  • 10° shaft-to-blade offset helps to keep the blade more vertical through the power phase, benefitting forward paddling, while offering surfers a good compromise in the waves
  • Midsize 95 sq. in. blade suits paddlers looking to limit exertion, as well as paddlers of smaller to midsize stature
  • Full carbon shaft with LeverLock system offers easy, on-the-fly adjustments

Fantastic, but grip broke under vigorous paddling

There's a lot to love about this paddle: lightweight, great feel in the water, and the sleekest adjustment mechanism I've ever seen--built right into the handle. Unfortunately, the design of that sleek handle to accommodate the locking lever in the grip seems to have compromised strength of the material in that area. I think it isn't up to the challenge of vigorous paddling from stronger riders, as I have had two grips break in exactly the same spot. (For reference, I am over 6' and 200 lbs, and was putting my full strength into paddling upwind.) It's a shame and I hope they will tweak the grip design to strengthen it. I love the paddle enough that I will consider investing in the 1 piece version, which looks relatively bulletproof.

Not for rigorous use

It's a good paddle, but the handle broke after 12 months of use. I had to pay $65 for a replacement part, but I have little confidence the reliability of this equipment.

Nice but not 2-pieces in the conventional sense

This paddle is amazing in the hand. I was really bummed to have to return it. I assumed that this paddle broke down into two pieces for storage. That is *not* the case. The second "piece" is only the length adjustable handle. This should be listed as a one-piece adjustable paddle. Werner makes truly excellent paddles and I have zero doubt this is a superb product. 3-stars for the misleading description online.
