Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid Soft Shell Have worn this jacket in a couple different instances now and can say that thus far I am pleased with its performance. If your looking for a soft shell to cover your layers around town it is stylish and sleek enough to wear out. Personally I wore this jacket last week on Mt. Whitney was pleased with it's resistance to wind and cold, winds were gusting/sustained at around 20-30 mph and temp at the summit was taken at 18 degrees...what I really loved about this jacket were the cuffs, pocket size/placement and the size of the hood. I'm a bigger guy and felt this hood fit comfortably without being tight, or restricting peripheral view too much. The cuffs were great because I didn't have to worry about adjusting them, they were tight around my wrists with and without gloves on. The pockets where large enough to fit my gloves in when i wasn't wearing them in addition to a snack or two in the chest pocket. I was able to wear this jacket with various layers underneath and feel comfortable throughout the day. Breathability wasn't groundbreaking but I also wasn't dripping sweat underneath. I'm 6'3 210 and wore and xl, still had plenty room for layers underneath and could put my arms over my head without any restriction

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Husband thought it unnecessary but then... Bought for my hubby who said he did not need it. Then we went hiking in the adirondacks. Kept him warm and dry and also wind resistant. Now he wears it all the time and loves it.
