Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for bike commuting I bought this three weeks ago and have used it for bike commuting to work in Minneapolis five times now. While there is more than enough room if you expand the sides, I haven't found the need to yet. I keep some small things in the pannier pockets without unfolding them then roll up my pants and polo and put them in the main pocket with my socks and belt. I decided to keep a pair of shoes at the office just to save space, but could easily fit them if I used the panniers. There's enough room inside for a small rain jacket or for putting my vest inside after wearing it in on a cool morning too. I'm very happy with the purchase and would recommend it to anyone else. It's worlds better than wearing a backpack by the way - no more sweaty back!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Holds it all This is a fantastic trunk bag. You had the predecessor to this bag for my first bike but felt I needed another one so I went looking. I was especially excited to rinse that they included a water bottle holder on the new one and brightened up the inner lining. Two things that happened to be in my wish list. A lot of the items that I toss in the back are black or dark in color and difficult to find in low light . The yellow inner lining is perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Carries everything I need I needed something to carry more gear for my bike commute and this versatile bag has room for everything I carry. Laptop fits in saddle, work clothes, and more all fit securely while I can roll up the side bags for lighter loads. This was a little more than I wanted to spend, but in all honesty it was worth it. The best part for me is it sits securely on the rack so I don't have to worry about dropping everything if I hit a bump.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from QUick ouit the door commuter help Have had it for a year(prior version really). Slides right onto MTX rack, Click! on Or Off. Not a camping or expedition grade pannier; but great for commuting, carrying everything and not fighting with Velcro straps near dirty rims when unloading to run into work. Center holds plenty, sides carry shoes (and are held down adequately by elastic lanyard). Fair as light grocery grabber/or Farmer's market pickup too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very useful trunk bag This trunk slides easily into my Topeak rack, and I like how I can use the middle compartment for small items. If I need the extra storage, then I can let down the side bags. Perfect for my errands around town. I am able to fit my iPad in the middle compartment, but a laptop would need to go in one of the side bags.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Great Idea This pack offers everything you need for a day out by giving you the option of travelling light with an abundance of basic necessities or using the expanding features to carry those extras you might need for a weather change, a clothing change, or anything else you might need some additional space for. Carry on!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from cheaply appointed for the money spent. I had one zipper pull tab broke off within an hour of ownership. the panniers are low quality in general. no padding on the sides or bottom make stuffing it with a laptop a very risky option. but, the panniers are well clear of the rear wheel making weight in them less of an issue. My rack is attached only at the seat post which prevented me from using garden variety panniers. That still works in favor of not returning the item to the store for refund.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super easy for work commuting This thing (purchased with its companion bike rack) is worth the money. It slides on and off the bike rack so easily, and it fits my lunch box, bike locks, and gym clothes perfectly. And it is not super clunky to carry around. I considered buying the price point down (the ones without the saddle bags), but I think it is worth it to spend $20 or so extra to get the saddle bags for the days you need them.

Will this bag work with the Thule Pack 'n pedal tour bike rack? If not does REI sell one that does?

Asked by: JThor
This rack trunk bag is not compatible with the Thule Pack 'n Pedal Tour Bike Rack because of the track under the bag. The Strap Mount Topeak MTX TrunkBag DXP is a better choice. https://www.rei.com/product/100573/topeak-mtx-trunkbag-dxp-strap-mount

What are you suppose to do with the draw strings at the bottom of the panniers. Seems like something that should either attach to the frame or get caught in the rear tire.

Asked by: NovaraBuzz16
The lower bungee cords are designed to secure to the lower portion of your rack.

How do I decide which rack is for me to use with this trunk bag? I ride an XS frame bike and would like to be able to use this on either my mountain or my road bike. I do not need panier attachments, but am really attracted by the attachment system.
