Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Multi-purpose jacket for rainy PNW weather! I bought this jacket in black for my teenage daughter and she has gotten so much wear out of it! She wanted an insulated jacket to wear during the wintery rainy PNW weather - her North Face "shell" jacket was not doing the job. She wears it everyday to school and it protects her from the Seattle rain when she walks from building to building for class - she wears it afterwards for sports practice if its raining - it keeps her warm and dry (but not too warm) - it looks great and still looks brand-new after 3 months. She doesn't mind the high pockets, she likes that they zip-close to keep her phone dry. Now that it is on sale, I will be buying one for myself as well! Best rain jacket ever, great value!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far, so good I bought this jacket four weeks ago, and it has yet to disappoint. It kept me warm and dry for five days in the Seattle rain, it's comfortable under my day pack on winter hikes, and I just came in from an hour outside in a nor'easter and I am dry as can be. The pocket positioning is perfect for wearing under a backpack, I can reach my gloves or my phone without having to unbuckle the hip belt. When the temperature is above freezing I wear this with a light sweater, but have used it down to 10F with a Smartwool long sleeve and a fleece jacket underneath. The side vents are also a great feature to manage temperature on the trail. I love the pocket next to the zipper, so much better than a traditional inside pocket since you don't need to unzip the whole jacket to reach it. Overall a well designed jacket with multiple uses that is quickly becoming my favorite!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good weight, but. I was in the market for a lightly insulated waterproof jacket. This fits the bill perfectly. Its got a little warmth, but not the bulk of a fully insulated jacket. But, the pockets, they are placed so high, they are not usable (for hands or stuff). Zoom in on the pic to see what I mean. Trying the mens version (which is longer) to see if that might help.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Keeps Me Warm I love this coat! It is lightweight and keeps me warm. I recently wore this coat on a hike where the high was 32, wind chill was in the 20s and I wasn't cold at all. I had a light base layer with a vest underneath. The coat is soft, flexible, light weight and kept the wind off me which is exactly what I needed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good for winter/spring in NW This is perfect for winter/early spring with or without a hoodie underneath. It's nice and roomy, the sleeves are nice and long, and the lining is soft. I don't mind the pockets being a little high as I'm a bit short anyway. Roomy, not form fitting. Great bargain at current price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love This Jacket I bought this jacket over a month ago and I love it. I'm always cold when it's raining so it's nice to have a rain jacket with some insulation instead of just a shell. This jacket is also great for spring snow days and windy days.

How does the jacket fit? Is it roomy or form fitting? I am 5'5" and weigh 167. My chest is 38. I don't like a close fit.

Asked by: Mary477
I'm 5'3" with a 38" bust and ordered a L. I weigh about 153. There was plenty of room. I could easily wear a hoodie underneath for extra warmth. I would say the jacket is roomy, not form fitting.
