Primus Campfire CooksetI purchased this cook set primarily for overlanding, and light backpacking, so weight wasn't really a huge influence in my decision, and will not reflect negatively in this review. I typically don't need all 3 pieces for an outing anyways. The set is incredibly sturdy (which adds to the weight), and the high polish in the fry pan is great for cleaning out after use. The leather tabs are a nice touch, though I wonder how they will hold up to repeated washing.
Overall the set is built VERY well, and will undoubtedly last for a very long. The added bonus of it being sturdy enough to be placed directly on a campfire is pretty awesome too. I would recommend that this be used for weekend type camping trips, not hardcore backpacking as it is pretty heavy when compared to other sets available.

Useful little potOf this set I have purchased only the three liter pot. What appealed to me was it's shape and size and material. The lid is a good size and may work with other frying pans, though not with the one in this set, I believe. I felt the Primus frying pan and it's truly a tank. I will carry the pot though. I use it to boil water and make rice and baked bread--all over campfire. It has a great handle, lid, capacity, and pouring capability, but I don't need the integrated strainer, and they used aluminum rivets for the handle, not stainless. No big deal. The canvas sack it comes with is useful, but does not sinch down well.

Nice cookset...Disappointed in the Q/C...I'm dinging it two stars for the quality control issue and PRIMUS's response when I inquired about getting a replacement lid. Otherwise I would have given it 5 stars...It's a nice durable set.
I bought this cookset to replace an older MSR set I have. I really like the design and that the lids have built-in strainers. I also like that that pan has a disc on the bottom to help with heat distribution.
What I don't like is that I recommended this cookset to a friend and we had them both out on the same camping trip...
I notice an issue with the smaller lid cover on my small pot. When I compared it to his mine was missing a crimp on the lid tap which is causing it to pop out.
I called PRIMUS because my local REI stores no longer stock this kit and they said I'd have to pay for return shipping. I didn't even have it for two weeks, but oh well...I guess it's going back and I'll just re order a whole net set from another REI.
I know it's probably petty, but when I'm shelling out almost $80 for two pots and one pan...I expect them not to be missing a very simple detail that shouldn't have been missed.

No cover for fry panThis set looked nice, but I didn't realize that there's no cover for the frying pan. Also, the frying pan had some scratches- I don't know how that could've happened in a new set, but it makes me wonder about the durability of the finish. I haven't decided if I will exchange it for the larger set or something entirely different.
