Good but costly

This product was quite expensive versus any box shaped Coleman or other mfg's stove. Obviously you're paying for the light-weight, compactness of the unit. The straps holding the unit closed after use look to have stretched and I expect them to cease functioning soon. Also, one of the plastic feet holding the wind shield is compressed and not holding the shield in place. The overall construction feels flimsy and I have a hard time believing this will take much abuse say in a backpack or squished in a camping box. Finally, it eats propane to the tune of one bottle every two meals or so. However, it performed well in gale force winds at Palo Duro Canyon SP and is truly compact and light weight where such is needed. Unlike the Big Agnes tent I purchased at the same time, this met my expectations.

Great for car camping

I have had this unit for about a year, and have had no issues. This is not a stove you are going to take backpacking. If you are car camping it works great. Yes it is expensive, but becomes compact when it is in its storage position. I probably wouldn't have bought this for the price, but i got it at discount and had a $100.00 gift card. So i only spent $90.00 of my own money. I have made brats, deer burgers, bacon, mac and cheese on this with no issues.

Great stove for #vanlife

We got the Genesis stove shortly after it was released and have used it twice a day almost every day since then (two years+). We love how it folds up so small and how adjustable the burner is. Great for simmering or rapid boiling!

Amazing quality

It was time I stepped up to a dual burner stove. More elaborate meals and feeding more campers as well as odd shaped cast irons al lead to the need for this Jetboil. I like that it doesn't have walls actually. It lets any size pot or pan sit on there. The flame adjustment is great too. My past stoves were pretty much, low, med, full blast with the gas. This model has fine adjustment which I enjoy. The option for a third burner if needed is a bonus. The carry bag is good quality as well. I waited to buy mine with a coupon AND REI points cashed in, so I saved big on this!

LOVE IT

I was laughing when I read the reviews and saw that people were upset that its not a "backpacking" stove...ummmm and Im really not sure about the guy whose Genesis and Flash didnt work, Im guessing that it was most likely user error as I have a Genesis and 5 Flashes and every single one of them has always lit up with no issues what so ever. This is not a backpacking unit, not sure why people are upset that it isnt, but hey, it is what it is, and what it is, is GREAT. Its in the back of my truck at all times, the unit is way easier to clean than any boxed unit I have ever had and the attachment for the Luna is such a perfect compliment to keep my flash crushing on the tea front. This unit completes my truck setup.

buy a spare regulator

Love the stove but the regulator is super super cheap. I highly recommend buying a backup so you can rest easy. Stansport makes a fixed 10 psi regulator that fits this stove, as does camp chef. They also make hose regs. Jetboil this regulator does not stand up to your brand and I don’t know what to do except give a poor review so that maybe you’ll fix it.

Well Built Stove

Recently purchased the Jetboil Genesis 2-Burner Stove and the stove works like a champ. It's super solid and well constructed. One reason why I don't give it a 5 star rating. As other customers have mentioned, the windscreen is a joke. Jetboil, why on earth would you build such a bombproof stove and then use cheap plastic for the windscreen?? It's not easy to install, and plastic so close to a flame seems like it was a complete afterthought. I imagine you field tested this but I'm shocked that someone agreed this is the cheap branded windshield we want to include. Anybody ever think of using heavy gauge tin like MSR did with their Whisper Lite 30 years ago??

Expensive but worth it for the right user

Let's get this out of the way, it's expensive. It heats food which every other stove does much cheaper. If you are going camping in your back yard 2 times a year, this isn't a product for you. But if you are going for days or weeks at a time, limited by space, and need to depend on your gear, that is where the Jetboil shines. It packs compact, little to no rattle, and is built better than the Jeep I am transporting it in. The only regret I have is I didn't buy the pans with it as a kit and it cost me an extra $50 to do that a week later.

Slow to heat

We purchased the 2-burner and 1-burner stoves for our summer camping trip. The 1-burner stove outperformed the 2-burner stove overall. The 2-burner stove will not produce the same heat when cooking and takes longer to bring water to a simmer or boil. If you car camp and are not in a rush to prepare meals, this could be a stove for you. The main advantage of this stove is its storage and lightweight for car camping. I highly recommend the 1-burner stove and perhaps buy 2 of them, instead of the 2-burner stove.

WOW. Super hot, super fast

I am SO impressed with this stove. Compact -Takes up very little space. I can store it under my Jeep seat while I travel. Easy setup -Fast to set up -Easy to light Super hot -Hotter than Lucifer’s domain, this stove will boil water before you’ve opened your oatmeal box, cook food faster than a cheetah, and even cooked a pot of rice faster than our gas range at home!! Easy clean up -Wipes clean easily, folds up perfectly. Overall, highly recommend. I read a lot of reviews online before purchasing and none were wrong. Best stove I’ve ever owned.

Fuel regulator not built to last

Didn't mind the high price as I wanted to save space in the car for camping trips. Took the genesis on its second outing and the fuel regulator wouldn't work. Such a disappointment for something so expensive. Now that I see other reviews mentioning the same issue, I'm going to return it and pick a more reliable stove.
