MicroMo has the new regulator that works awesome at high Altitudes and in cold weather. This is my favorite Jetboil because now I can simmer for actual cooking. Perfect, lightweight, low fuel consumption!

Lid is complete failure
ToneyC
I tried to leave this review on the Jetboil website but I received a message from them stating that my review was moderated because it didn't "meet all their website guidelines". I'll translate that for you. I left a really negative review of this product and they didn't like it. The lid design is garbage, no ifs, ands, or buts, it's pure garbage. Does anyone's lid actually snap on? I ordered two of these and sent them back because the lids would just fall off. After further inspection, I noticed that there is no lip in the groove of lid to catch on the rim of the cup so the lid doesn't "snap" on. It just sits on top of the cup. Seriously, what a completely terrible design. Obviously not terrible to the jetboil fan crowd through, no, they just accept the fact that jetboil urinated on their leg and told them it's raining. Instead of calling this company out on a bad design, they have compensated for poor quality by using rubber bands, or straps, or cinch sacks to keep the lid on. To accept poor quality from a company because your a fan is not helping the grander audience. The lid should stay on, period. Shame on Jetboil for not doing anything about this lid and for continuing to sell them. Jeboil, read this and fix the lid.

DISAPPOINTED!!

hello, We recently bought this product with high expectations as it was highly recommended to us, BUT, after using it for less than 10 times as disaster was about to happen!! the wind came out of nowhere and directed the fire to the bottom part (Plastic part) of the stove and it started a fire in that part!! LUCKILY I was checking on it to see how it is going with the wind and guess what?! it was on fire!!! it damaged the whole plastic part and the ignater.. Buying such an expensive, high end (supposedly) product, shouldn't be made of such flammable material!!! so disappointed.. a refund or replacement is demanded.. Please reach out to me for images.

Compact light and efficient but...

Over 4 years had enjoyed jetboli SOL. I meets my needs and expectation exactly: compact light and effecient. However wind resistance would be more required. I have some DIY for wind resistance by slight redirecring the fins of Flux ring and minimal covering of side opening lower part with alminium tape. The wind resistnace got much improved.

Boils great but !

I read all the reviews and I wish I took the negative reviews more seriously concerning the lid and if I did I would’ve not purchased this stove system. I am avid hiker and plan on several 3 day and 2 night adventures this year and needed to improve my food consumption strategies and I like the ability to control the flame and cook in it rather then just boil water. I took the micromo out this weekend on a little day trip and for lunch I took it out with so much excitement and that was the peak of its usage for me. The reviews are correct in its ability to boil water fast but be careful as the lid will come off with any pressure on it. I pushed it down hard and it felt secure before I put it on the stove with water in it to boil , I was confident in it and starting unpacking my bag until the water was boiled. I foolishly took it off the stove as I had confidence in it as I felt i had it on secure and I started to poor it into my food and well disregarding the reviews came back to haunt me and the cover came off as soon as I tip towards bag and boiling water poured out fast .It was an unpleasant experience but no injuries for me but I can see this issue causing so serious burns. I wouldn’t recommend this system based on this major flaw . I will be going down to my local REI and trying a different Jetboil system with the hopes of a better experience and I will not have to try a third and a different brand.

Use less fuel, eat/drink faster!

I purchased this stove set up with the sole purpose of finding a solution to my wind problems. I have always used a MSR pocket rocket. Which in the right conditions, works just fine and serves its purpose when you need to pack lite. If there is any amount of wind, it seems like it takes forever to boil water. I have used this Jetboil on a few trips now and I am blown away every time at how fast the water comes to a rolling boil. I didn't time it, but if I had to guess, it is easily 2-3x faster than the MSR pocket rocket. (wind conditions will vary this time a lot) The only downside to the stove is that it is very bulky. On the flip side, because it uses so little fuel per boil, you can easily cut down on the amount of fuel you pack in to save weight. Overall, 5 stars!!

Incredibly capable and tried and true

When you think of camping, backpacking, or survival, you should be thinking of water and food. I have multiple of the JetBoils in my various kit bags. Backpacking for 1, for 2, my get home bag. This unit (and all of the various units they make) accomplish so much in a self-contained package. For the features, it is relatively light (it will never win the “ultralight” challenge of a simple pocket rocket, etc) but it is your water boiler, it is your eating vessel, it contains and protects the heating element, you can pack your fuel in there. If you want an easy to use, well know and tried and trued package - the JetBoil line accomplishes a lot!

Game Changer

I used to use a wood burning stove, which worked but it took ten minutes to boil water. For the same weight of that stove and a pot, I can get a Jetboil with a 100g fuel canister. When I first fired it up to test it, I couldn't believe that within 15 seconds a small amount of steam was already coming out of the vent. In less than two minutes it had water at a rolling boil. Amazing! I chose this model because it was the lower weight version that still has the low temp regulator and the ability to simmer. You need to constantly stir if you don't want your food to stick to the bottom while simmering. To do that you will need a long-handled spoon so you don't burn your fingers with steam. Also, if you like coffee, you can get this Jetboil, the fuel canister, and the Jetboil french press attachment all to fit inside the unit. Great design. Works well. Now I don't have to sit over a camp stove for 15 minutes cooking. It is certainly a game changer for me!

Perfect for time in the field!

As a Marine, I've relied on gear that's rugged, efficient, and doesn't compromise on performance. The Jetboil stove has been a game-changer during field operations. Its compact design and rapid boiling capability are crucial for quick meals on the go. The speed at which it heats water or food makes it an invaluable asset in situations where time is of the essence. Its durability withstands the demanding conditions we face, ensuring it holds up during various outdoor operations. The reliability of the Jetboil is unmatched, making it an indispensable part of our gear for sustaining energy levels and keeping our focus sharp in challenging environments.

So far so good. Everything packs in tight. Boils quick. Only used once so far on an overnight bike trip. But did everything asked of it.
