Peak Design  Mobile Crossbody Strap

Perfect for my 8x32 binoculars! Great for compact binoculars where the strap lugs are close to, or under, your hands. The Micro Anchors get out of the way and don't interfere with hand placement, unlike the regular Anchor Links that have a stiffer cord and a larger connector. The strap itself has just enough stretch to absorb the shock from the binoculars bouncing around. For 8x42 and larger binoculars, I still prefer the Leash or Slide Lite.

Excellent gear! However, right out of the box, I almost returned the whole thing! It was impossible to detach the micro anchors from their mount! But I watched a few online tutorials to figure out the right angle for inserting and pulling them. With a little persistence, they work perfectly now. I love them! By rigging up a knot a bit further away from the phone, I added a carabiner for my keys so they wouldn't scratch the phone. An extra attachment point like that would be a welcome feature on future models. And more colors, too. It's so easy to put on and take off now that I'll be ordering other colors to match my outfits. Bravo Peak Design—you guys are the best!

I hadn't intended to review this product but was so perplexed by the folks who can't clip and unclip the "micro anchors" that I actually do have something to say. Initially, I, too, squinted at the little buggers. For about 10 minutes. After that ... it quite literally takes less than one second to unclip/clip each of them. I am a 73-year-old (next week!!) male with no particularly handy background. My tip: to clip in, use opposing thumbs, touching one another. To clip out, use same side thumb and index finger, also touching each other, as a mini-lever. (The reason for four instead of five stars is the strap is pricey. I like it, though.)

I just received my black crossbody strap and love it. But I had such a hard time detaching the tiny connectors to attach the strap to my Peak Design iPhone case. I almost gave up! Can you make it easier to detach the connectors? Update: We just came back from a trip during which my wife used the new mobile strap while I attached a form strap to my iPhone case. I still like the mobile strap, but it is so hard to detach the small connectors. I was afraid I would break the strings because I have to use a metal rod to detach them. So, I will stick to using the form strap for my iPhone. As you can see from the photo, the form strap is a bit thicker but uses the same connectors as my other straps. So, I can easily switch between iPhone, camera, or binoculars without any difficulty.

I bought a couple of the cuffs and a cross body for myself and for my wife. She uses hers on her iPhone, mine are for my GRs (a 3 and a 4 monochrome). Folks are complaining about the new connectors but after a week in Italy using the cuff & crossbody I have to disagree. Yes they are a little more challenging than the usual camara connectors but once in regular use I found no issues at all... and they fit the teeny weeny GR strap mounting holes. Perhaps it's familiarity thing. Not as easy to adapt to as the camera connectors, but not nearly so bad as some reviewers have made out. I need another crossbody strap... I doubt my wife will surrender hers! So... I recommend. I give 4 not 5 stars because you do have to 'learn' and adapt to these connectors. And if you are a GR user... what are you waiting for?

Purchased ahead of a Euro trip after hearing horror stories of the rise in phone theft. I’m a few days into that trip now and pretty surprised with how much I like it. I figured it would be a nuisance but find it very practical. I use it as a single anchor to the phone wearing the strap cross body keeping the phone in my pocket where it usually lives. Works great with the Peak Design case and seems well build, like other PD products. Removing the strap from the anchor does take some getting used to. It feels like you’re going to break it each time. Otherwise a great, practical product.

I should have returned when I got it. These connectors are the worst thing I’ve ever had to deal with young or old. It shouldn’t 10 minutes and some sort of lever to get this apart. I like the cord and the concept but these connectors are very discouraging. And beware, unless binoculars are little things these aren’t long enough to carry 10x42 for me. It is comfortable and I’d like to carry my iPhone and my Zeiss binocs….but I can only doo that with one sided mount and then, well I’m stuck with them because I have to unclip from the carabiner and not a quick release connector.

Great design, super practical This strap just works. It’s lightweight, comfortable, and feels very secure without being bulky. The Micro Anchor™ system is quick and reliable, and I really like the two-point connection—it keeps everything from twisting around. Nice bonus that you can switch to single-point carry too. The rope feels strong but still comfortable for daily use, and it looks clean and low-profile. Also love that it works with different phones and cases thanks to the adapter. Only small downside: the anchor points are tiny, so attaching/removing them can be a bit tricky at first—especially if you have big hands. There’s definitely a short learning curve, but once you get used to it, it’s fine. Overall, really solid product. Would definitely recommend.

I must admit that the report about removing the tiny anchors from the hooks is quite complicated. As long as there is no "gear" attached to the anchor you simply have not enough grip to remove it from the firm hooks. This definately needs to be adressed. As soon as my Camera gave enough grip it was easier - but I can understand that someone fears to brake something. We are simply not used to something like this from PeakDesign. Maybe this is the reason you only can find them on the website when searching...

I recently bought this strap (along with a mobile cuff) to use on my Ricoh Gr IV Monochrone and Ricoh GR III X, swapping from one camera to the other depending on how I use both cameras on a specific day. The strap is very strong and the anchors have a perfect small size and are very secure (even in heavier cameras, I think). Terrific product, highly recommended!
