Awesome! It's so comfortable.

The REI Westward Dreamer bed is AWESOME! We are rehabbing a house in Bend, Oregon and the fumes from a past smoker were brutal so we have been sleeping in our cargo Sprinter. We had foam padding, old comforters and sleeping bags. We were achy in the am. My 60 plus year old body couldn't take it. So the Westward Dreamer bed was a game changer. I had no idea they could be so comfortable. I swear it's firmer than our bed. The beauty of the Dreamer bed is you can totally fine tune how firm you want it to be. So the bed comes with a carrying bag, two straps to secure the rolled bed and a pump bag. The carry bag with mattress inside is easily stored in a tub when not in use. I let the bed self inflate for 40 minutes which brought it to mostly full. I liked the color coded openers on the bed. Orange/reddish to inflate. The two side handles were a plus. Grey is to deflate. The pump bag is color coded to match the orange/reddish to inflate. I added two rounds from the pump bag and that was perfect. It was firm but I felt it was supportive. The length is 76.5" and width is 50" with a depth when fully inflated is 5". I am 5'8" and if I lay on my stomach my toes go over the end. I know, I know stop sleeping on my stomach it's bad for my back. The Dreamer bed is comfortable for two people. The bed stays still even when the other person turns over. It doesn't squeak when you move around on it. I can't get over how comfortable the Dreamer bed is. So I said it took 40 minutes to inflate and it takes about the same time to deflate it. It is a full body workout. It took some patience and some folding and rolling and re-rolling but I was able to get it back in the carry bag. I really love this REI Westward Dreamer Self Inflating bed. It is the most comfortable air mattress I have ever slept on. I would and have recommended this bed to other car campers. It would probably make a great guest bed in a pinch. Finally a good nights sleep.

Soft, firm and durable camping bed

Received free product

The Westward Dream bed fits all the boxes in my search for a double size bed to take for my kids camping. The westward bed is firm and yet soft. Its easily comes with self inflatable design and it also included the add on inflate bag which is very easy to use and light weight. I only tried it indoors so far and looking forward to use this in our spring break camping. Left the bed inflated for more than few days and the firmness stayed well as I kept it. No slow leaking valves. Pairs well with my camping blanket. It comes with very easy to roll design and nice roomy bag to store it in. I like the fact it is light weight enough to be carried couple of miles on trail if we get adventurous to try camp sites which needs bits of hike from parking. Overall very satisfied so far to this bed and looking forward to some great camping night sleep in this one.

Just right for a car camping couple

Received free product

What a plush bed! I've always used a thin foam ground pad—you know, the kind with ridges that unrolls and it's good to go. Lightweight and packable, but not the most comfortable. Well, as I get up there in age and my trips are less extended backpacking trips and more car camping trips with my kids, my body has grown to appreciate a thicker mattress. I had been envious of my wife's blow up sleeping pad for awhile, so when I got this one I was immediately ready to put it to the test. It's just right to fit both her and me side by each. There's even room to snuggle a little kid on there too if need be. I was initially worried about how my lungs would handle blowing air into all this space, but luckily it comes with a sack that can be used to trap air and then push it into the valve to blow the whole thing up. It's a bit of an arm workout, but I was never in danger of fainting from lack of oxygen either. I call that a win. The material is soft and feels great against the skin, and it also works well with sleeping back material rubbing against it. It doesn't pack down to the smallest size, but for car camping that's alright. I'll take the trade-off for comfort over packability with this sleeping pad.
