I’ve been using the NEMO Satellite Chair on camping trips, road trips and at the trailhead, and it’s quickly become a must-have. Setup is incredibly quick and easy, it takes seconds, which is exactly what you want after a long day outside. I love that it comes with a backpack-style carry system. It makes hauling it around super easy, whether I’m walking to camp, hanging at the trailhead, or bringing it along for family adventures. Huge win. For how lightweight it is, the chair is so comfortable. The seat has just the right amount of support, the frame feels stable, and it actually feels good to sit in, not just “good for a camp chair.” It’s one of those pieces of gear you don’t realize how much you’ll use until you have it. 🌲🏕️
This is such a great upgrade from the Stargaze with the ideal mix between comfort-luxury & travel-lightweight type chair. The reclining system works wonders and actually feels comfortable, not awkward! I love how simple the reclining mechanism is, and the chair feels sturdy without being bulky. It packs down surprisingly small for how supportive it is. We have been using the Satellite chair on camping trips and relaxing by the river after a long day out in the mountains.
I bought this as a go between for my Stargaze and Moonlite. The Moonlite is a great option for its size and weight, but not the most comfortable for 6’3/225lbs. The luxury Stargaze is very comfortable and offers a high back but does not pack down very small when you’re trying to maximize every bit of space in your van. In comes the new Satellite. Offers a bit of both worlds with its lightweight and high back and recline. Have only tested it in my living room as an extra chair for a Super Bowl party. Everyone said it was comfy. My only dig on all of them is their sit height. As a 6’3 person, it’s not the easiest to get out of them. While sitting they’re great.
I tried out this chair in the REI at King of Prussia and found it uncomfortable. The padded headrest is not height-adjustable and hit above the back of my head, forcing my head forward. My back was forced to curve in an odd way, as though the natural midpoint for the “slouch“ was higher than where my bag naturally curves. it was not possible for me to sit up straight on this chair. For reference, I’m a 5‘2“ tall woman and think that this would probably be a fabulous chair for someone who has a longer torso.
Perfect for road trips to the trailhead and everything in between! This chair offers excellent support and is genuinely comfortable, making it easy to fully relax after a long day outside. It’s especially great for base camping while you’re out exploring through mountain running or mountaineering missions. As a mountain guide, I use it in my guided tours, and my guests were so happy with the chair. I also use it at home by the fire, which says a lot about how comfortable it is. It’s quick and easy to set up, feels extremely solid, and holds up well to regular use. I’ve tried many camping chairs over the years, and this one truly stands out for its durability and smart, functional design. This is a chair I see myself using for many seasons to come.
I bought this to replace/augment my Stargaze EVO X chair. I love the EVO , but when I travel in my van for both recreation and SAR missions I found the EVO just took up too much room in storage. The Satellite solved that problem. It's comfortable, packs down nicely and is straightforward to set up. I do miss the rocking capability of the EVO, but for when storage is an issue, I grab the Satellite.
I’ve been loving this chair. Feels really stable, easy to set up and I’ve been looking pretty stylish out there! When you set it up on the beach, that feeling of stability is so important so you can chill out after surfing and just rest.
New favorite chair! This chair is very comfortable and super quick and easy to set up or pack away. Although it is lightweight and packs down small, it feels unbelievably solid and stable when you sit in it.
It has a hammock feel that I could enjoy for hours on end, and love that it has a secure cup holder. So easy to pack and store too.
Perfect camping chair. Great to have the added comfort from the moonlight, but still very packable and easy to carry.
