Great pack for casual use and decent value

Received free product

The pack provides a great amount of storage space with traditional pockets and latches you get in most packs. It feels like a great pack to take out for a couple of weekends a year but I am skeptical if the material will hold together over long continuous use. I have not been able to put many miles into it so I can only offer speculation based off the feel of the pack. It is not a flimsy bag but there are far more rugged options out there. One thing I found interesting is the large zipper to access the internal body of the bag. This zipper spans the majority of the main storage compartment. At first it was some what awkward to manipulate and grab your gear but after gaining a familiarity with the bag it began to be a convenient way to access any area of the bag quickly.

The Pack That Does It All

Received free product

This pack is extremely versatile. It is great for a group backpacking trip where bulkier gear may be split amongst a few people, but it is also perfect and roomy enough for a solo adventure. The pack is highly adjustable in height and width. The hip pads and back support are cushy without being too soft. I was impressed with how all of the compression straps worked to keep the load of the pack centered and secured. The brain of the pack is easily accessible and even has a diagram to help new backpackers know how to efficiently load their bag. A common issue i have with packs is that the waterbottle sleeves aren't large enough. This pack has two waterbottle sleeves that easily accommodate different liter sized bottles. This pack is great quality and comfortable without being bulky or heavy.

Fits everything and more

Received free product

This pack is it! It can literally hold everything you could need. I mean it can fit a sleeping bag plus more! It’s also pretty lightweight which is a definite must. I love that when you open the top flap it has instructions for how to pack it- my husband is not the greatest packer! The waist belt not only helps to stabilize the pack bit also has pockets that you can use to store your phone so it’s easily reachable. One if the best packs I’ve used.

Great pack

Received free product

I used this backpack on a morning hike at a nearby state park. It was spacious with more than enough room for our supplies including some snacks, water bottles, sweatshirts, and a blanket. The hardware was solid and easy to adjust. The straps were comfortable, though I did not fill the pack so it wasn’t too heavy. I am excited to try it out on longer hikes with more gear. I am 6’3” and 220lbs.

Simple

This may be one of the cheaper pack options at REI however this thing is a simple beast, none of the fancy or gimmicky ultra- "whatever" it's a rugged yet adjustable frame and a huge bag attached to it with straps on the bottom and sides that allow you to really get your load tight and fixed. It also features a few accessory loops for your ice axes, shovels, ropes, or sleeping pad. I couldn't be happier not spending 3X what tis pack comes in at for the same performance and reliability

Well Made and Durable

Received free product

I was given this backpack for free in exchange for my honest review of the product. This backpack is very well made. The material is strong and would endure the outside elements. The pack has a strong support and pockets on the hip belt. A person could carry a lot in this backpack without straining their back.

Impressive Pack

Received free product

I was happily surprised how roomy this pack was. From metro trails with the family and dog to longer trips to Northern MN. The 60L capacity is the sweet spot — plenty of room for layers, snacks, and all the gear that migrates from the kids' packs into yours. Hip belt and shoulder straps stay comfortable all day, and the pockets are easy to access when you're wrangling a leashed dog on a busy trail. Versatile enough for a casual nature walk or a backcountry trip. It handled well in mixed weather conditions.

Good bag

Received free product

This is my first pack. It carries well on my back. I like the top zippered pocket on the outside to stash things I need and having the zippered access U. The sleeping bag compartment isn't that useful because it's not that effective, so I'll prob keep it collapsed. I wish it were an inch or two shorter to be able to be a plane carryon.

Comfortable to wear and easy to use

Received free product

• The REI Co-op Men’s Trailmade 60 Pack is well made and is easy to use. As far as I can tell, it doesn’t rely on any elastic bands which can wear out over time, everything is drawstring. Sizing seems sufficient, though my use so far has only been for a single day at a time. The shoulder strap height is easily adjustable, which is nice because it really can reasonably be used by two people of different heights. I’m 5’ 11” and on me I use the middle height level and it wears well. I had no trouble getting it adjusted to sit comfortably for carrying it several hours at a time. There is quite a lot of padding, around the shoulders hip and back, but it didn’t make it feel hot to wear even on an 80+ degree day. I did struggle a little with the side straps as it feels like constantly unclipping and reclipping, but the large pouch on the front was convenient to shove a layer of clothing into when needed. I really liked the dual hip water bottle pouches which made for a quick and easy in and out – though it also is hydration pack ready. One point worth noting is the “u” shape of the main zipper running down both sides and near the bottom means you can only open it so far without laying the pack flat strap-side down. I received these products for free from the REI Trailblazers sampling program in exchange for my honest review.
