Rated 5 out of 5 by from I absolutely love this vest! I had been shopping for a vest, and I got lucky that a friend and fellow trail runner bought me this as a ship. I've been using a handheld for awhile but as I am an ultra runner and getting into longer distance it was time to graduate to more storage and liquid. I've done a couple longer training runs with the vest and it's very comfortable, light, and has enough of what I need but not too much. I love the soft bottles as they are move comfortable against your body and shrink down as you drink which is great. I have plenty of room for my keys, phone, gels, sandwich, whatever I might need. I can't say enough positive about the vest or how much I'd recommend it. I look forward to using it on my 50k this weekend my upcoming 50 miler.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Big fan of this vest I ran a 14 mile race this weekend with this vest. Third run I've done with it and the longest to date. It held up really well. I'm bigger (6'2, 215 so I bought a large. That seemed to fit well. the water volume is a little short of what I'd likely need for a longer run but alas it proved sufficient to this distance. I like the soft bottle setup and I LOVE how easy they clean and dry out. Plenty of pockets for keys and snacks. Used the top pockets above the water bottles for my keys and an ID. I used the bottle pockets for chews. I tossed a pair of gloves and an extra shirt in the back "pocket slot." It was really easy to synch close to my body and allowed for a smooth distribution of weight. I'm sold. highly recommended...

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Loved the SJ 2.0, the 3.0 was a trade-0ff yes, i love the front storage options n the SJ 3.0 and I love on the right side front pocket holds an iPhone 6s without issue. However, three issues here. 1) the sizing from the previous year is not the same. I had to go down a size to get the proper amount of strap adjustment so the front straps didn't bottom out when my rear reservoir goes empty. 2) i had some issues using a Hydrapak reservoir in the back (not staying put, sagging, etc. 3) the front "body bottles" had an unusually large hard top of them. As you sip, the bottle goes floppy and the hard top (the molded top, not the round cap) tends to push into the chest and sit at an ole which is uncomfortable. The solution to this is to keep the bottles fully inflated with air as you drink. However, that allows for some serious sloshing noise. So pick your poison. Water sloshing or hard top in the chest. if you use the front pockets for storage only, this won't be an issue.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Do not buy if you plan to use a reservoir I've had my eye on the SJ pack for awhile and finally decided to pull the trigger when the 3.0 model came out. While it has some nice features going for it, I was very disappointed with how poorly it works with a rear reservoir. Despite being advertised as compatible with a 2L reservoir, the design is clearly an afterthought. The compartment does not hold the reservoir securely, so it sloshes around quite a bit; the velcro strap that secures the reservoir can sometime come undone due to the sloshing. When carrying a fully filled reservoir, the pack does not sit correctly on the body and slides down your back. This awkward positioning combined with the thin materials caused the hard plastic top of the reservoir to rub uncomfortably against my shoulder blades during runs. I did like the front-accessible storage, but this vest is basically useless for me on longer runs and races (50k+) because I can't comfortably use a bladder. Will look at Salomon or Nathan packs instead.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Light, durable and spacious! > 6’, 205 > Wear a MD/LG in shirts > Have a UD PB 1.0 in MD/LG and fits perfectly > Chest 42”/43” > Bottom of Rib Cage 36” According to other reviews, this runs large, my measurements puts me in between a SM and MD. Purchased a MD. Very odd fit. It feels like the loaded bottles are too low on my chest and the straps over the shoulders are too close to my neck. Doesn’t feel very form fitting. Chest straps are about 2-3 inches apart leaving a ton of strap leftover to flap around. Loosely tying it off solves the problem. Chest and side adjustments seem to be futile to get a comfortable fit, will take it for a run anyways. First run was a 10 miler. Load was just my key and Houdini in the back zipper pocket. I love the key clip! I only used 1 bottle and kept my phone in the other bottle pocket. I felt like the shoulder strap was rubbing against the left side of my neck, not hard, but noticeably felt uneven. Later in the run, I switched my phone to the zipper pocket, so no load in the right pocket, still felt lopsided. The whole run, I just felt like I had a vest on. This is not the case with other vests that I’ve tried(ie. Salomon Ultra Set 3L...great fit, ripped bottle pocket after 5 uses) This vest is supposed to replace that one, in terms of more capacity and durability than the latter, but less than the PB 1.0 Vest. Wanted something, super-light, super comfy and super durable. Enough for front country trail runs from 10 to 20+ miles where I need to at least have my 10 trail essentials, some nutrition and enough water. Test loaded the back pocket with my Puffy Vest and Pullover and Houdini, both bottles. It felt like it fit a lot better, but that is fully packed, which I don’t run with often enough to warrant the larger size. Update: Received the SMall. Out of the box, it was snug with room for adjustment and a little higher on the body, which feels like a perfect fit. Took it on a 12 miler with my 10 Trail Essentinals and performed just like it should. I have opted to use the skinny 500ml Salomon Hydro Flask and Ultraspire Formula 250ml Soft Flask in lieu of the included bottles. I will be using the Body Bottles for extra water stashed in the main back pocket for longer runs. Just personal preference. It still feels like I'm wearing a vest, but for now, it is a acceptable tradeoff for durability. Also, this thing dries fast!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from love it I love it. I tried others returned them and finally ended up with this in. Plenty of pockets up front and just enough storage in the back as well. I recently did 100 miles in the alps and I'm pretty sure this would have worked perfectly.

What are the recommendation for size? I'm a 5'4 women weighing 126 pounds.

Asked by: Inak4now
Go down a size. If you ran the SJ 2.0 in a medium, go down a size. i find that the medium SJ2.0 fit me well but the SJ 3.0 didn't allow enough adjustment once loaded. i went down a size and it worked out much better.
