Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best blend of function, form and feel This helmet certainly takes performance to the next level! Over the years their have probably been more times out climbing where I didn't wear a helmet than times when I did, and part of this was due to the feeling....I just enjoy feeling as unencumbered as possible and would often not wear one when objective hazards were low... I am in Sardinia, Italy right now working on a multi-pitch limestone big wall climb and honestly keep surprising myself when I bump my head into some 3 dimensional feature or tufa or whatever because I can't tell I'm even wearing a helmet! Its low profile, easy function light weight make it the best helmet I've ever tried!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfort is Everything For me comfort is everything when it comes to helmets. If my helmet was heavy and uncomfortable I wouldn't wear it as much. Due to it's lightness and functionality I would say the Wall Rider is the best helmet I've ever had. I've been using my Wall Rider helmet for about 6 months on both rock and ice. It's duel material design makes it multifunctional. To explain, the foam keeps it super light while the plastic shield on top allows one to feel more safe while ice and mix climbing. One more key note worth mentioning is that when adjusted right it stays in place and does not slide back on my head when I look up. Again it adds to the comfort and comfort is everything.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lightweight and durable protection This helmet combines EPP foam, which is more durable than EPS foam, and a lightweight hardshell to create a very durable helmet that weighs minimally more than the lightest offerings on the market. I have used mine from Alaska to Patagonia and it has survived longer than any other lightweight helmet I have owned. Because I have to wear glasses all the time, I have had the harness system come loose on long days. It requires a bit of trial and error to make sure the webbing and plastic tensions are in the correct position so that this doesn't happen. -Doug Shepherd, Mammut USA athlete

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light, Comfortable, Safe, Durable - Awesome Helmet Super comfortable and super light helmet. The webbing harness system is easy to adjust and keeps the helmet secure on my head. It's lower profile shape makes this helmet easy to fit into a pack or wear under a hood for when the weather changes in the mountains. The combination of light protective foam and a hard shell seems to make this helmet more durable than other lightweight helmets I have owned. The photo is of my helmet after a year of regular use climbing at the crags and in the mountains and being stuffed in my pack with climbing gear. It is still doing awesome!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent blend of weight and protection This helmet bridges the divide between weight and protection, particularly in the ice world (where there can be lots of armor-piercing projectiles) with the foam and hardshell combo. Plus, for rock climbing it is super well ventilated. And for both, so light you don't even notice it's on. I also like the simple strap adjustment system on back and the strap carriage system locks/cups very well around the back of the skull. Related to that--it keeps a real low profile on the head--not like you're marching around with a mushroom growing out of your brain--quite nice. I've had mine for a year now with use at least once a week and it is holding up very well--which hasn't been the case with other foam helmets I've tried.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Makes wearing a helmet comfortable and cool I've been using this helmet for over a year now and have had nothing but positive experiences with it. The hybrid design of the partial hard-shell is a great feature - bringing it into the modern age without compromising integrity. It allows for it's light weight and good ventilation. The adjustment system is also really well designed and works with ease allowing for the helmet to sit correctly without moving around. I highly recommend this helmet to anyone looking to step-up their helmet game.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light, Functional, Durable I use this helmet primarily for ski mountaineering in the Teton Range, when I'm worried about rock or ice fall. I can't say enough about the weight (so light), the durability after being dragged on many adventures and stuffed in packs and the fit, which is incredibly comfortable, even when skiing downhill. The adjustment straps make the fit seamless and prevent this helmet from moving or shifting when I'm climbing uphill with a pack or heading downhill with goggles on. This is something I've always had issues with with other climbing and mountaineering specific helmets. Plus, between the well ventilated back and lightweight design it feels like I'm practically wearing nothing and never gives me an excuse to not pack it due to weight constraints. Honestly, this is one of my favorite products.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fits my small head comfortably I use the Wall Rider for all season rock, ice and mixed climbing, with and without a hat. It's always a challenge to find something that fits my small head well, but the Wall Rider has an amazing amount of adjustability for having minimal parts- which help keep it super light. With the hard plastic top, I don't cringe when I stuff it in my pack, and after a year I've had no fading or dents. It also fits well under all of my jacket hoods!

Does anyone have any tips on fitting this helmet? I´ve had mine since last winter, and cannot for the life of me get it snug enough around my head so that it won´t move when worn with a hood, or force sunglasses down onto the bridge of my nose.

Asked by: Keap
It sounds like your helmet may be too big for you. If possible, we recommend exchanging the helmet for one with a proper fit.
