Worth every penny!!
This is by far the best cycling pack I have owned. I commute to work and back 11 miles every day on my Ghost hybrid and this pack is perfect! I have started wearing it all weekend everywhere now because it is so comfortable and convenient. I love the compartments for different gear. This fits so much I had considered the Raptor14 but that felt bulky when full. And this pack fit a change of clothes, lunch, sneakers, and all my bike tools, tire repair gear, and pump! Made of GREAT materials zippers and fabrics. And the hydration system (bladder, bite-valve) is so nice compared to other brands. I bought black and that didn't seem to be a problem during the summer with heat. Love my OSPREY Syncro 10 and love my Virginia Beach REI Co-op !!!!
Perfect for all day rides
I purchased the Osprey Syncro 10 for 20-30 mile trail rides - primarily for the 2.5l capacity. It has just enough room to carry a pump, multi-tool, tube, and some extra clothing. The mesh backing is really nice - it allows air flow between our back and the pack which helps keep you cool. My original intent wasn’t to replace my water bottle on short ride after work, but that’s how I have been using it recently. I just stick the water bottle in the pack and head out. I would probably use the bladder system more if it was easier to clean but regardless, it’s a good product and it’s handled a crash or two without tearing which is more than I can say for my MTB shorts.
Like the feel of the pack mountain biking
I have had Camel backs for several years. In fact, I still have one. However, I have seen the Osprey packs for a while now. I noticed how they have a frame to them that keeps it off your back to help keep you cool. So I finally got one. I had a H.A.W.G. Camel back for years but didn't like how it rested on my back when I Mountain biked. I purchased the Syncro 10 because I didn't want something super big but good for mountain biking and could hold a lot of water. The salesman at REI told me how to place all the straps starting with the waist strap, then the shoulder straps and chest strap. On my first ride with it I was very happy with my choice of the Osprey pack. I could feel the weight of the pack was off my back and I had more air circulating under the pack to keep me cool. I noticed also, that when I tightened the shoulder traps I needed to not tighten them very much because my helmet would hit the pack whenever I descended a slope mountain biking. I use it for hiking also and it's great! The design keeps the weight off your shoulders and on your waist. The magnet for the mouth piece is really good too. I can always find it and put it back when riding. The pockets are great too for holding snacks, 29" tube, and other items to have on hand mountain biking. I would recommend an Osprey pack. This one has been a good buy for me.
Great for bicycling
I have had this a couple of years now. I like that the frame keeps the pack off my back and keeps my back drier. It has a built in rain cover and the helmet carrier is very handy when off the bike, specifically going on trains, and planes. I have also used it for day hikes.
Great Mtb hydro pack
I finally broke down and bought my first hydro pack for a big Mtb trip in the Rockies (Moab, crested butte). I should have had one a long time ago although they prolly weren't as good as this one back then. This pack kept me hydrated and kept all my tools, food, extra layers, etc all organized and easy to retrieve. The bag seal is so easy to fill and never worry about it leaking like my friends camelback did in the car. Highly recommend this pack, great quality.
Burner
This was my 5th Burning Man. I needed to update my hydration system as this is a very essential item there. I had a High Sierra pack that I finally had to update because of wear and tear. I loved the Osprey Synchro 10! Perfect for the job! Very comfortable and plenty of room for snacks. I have used Camelbacks when I was in the military and personally don't care for them. Awkward to refill and every one I had eventually leaked. Two thumbs up for this pack!
comfortable fit
I've had this pack about a month use it for mountain biking, the mesh back with air gap is nice for air flow. Would like to have 1 more small zipper pocket and a pouch to stuff a light jacket. Overall I'm happy with this pack
great pack
I had purchased this pack thinking I'd use it as a hydration pack for long day hikes. Unfortunately, it proved to be too small for the gear I wanted to take along and so I returned it. If I didn't already have a Camelback pack for riding (and an extra $100 in my pocket), I would have absolutely kept this. It held enough gear for a longer epic MTB rides, the hydration system was nice - liked the magnet, and was super comfortable. When my old hydration pack gives up the ghost, I'll definitely be looking to pick up a pack like this.
Minimalist Oriented
Best suited for carrying just the essentials. I use it to carry bike tools and a very thin wind breaker. Love the helmet lock strap, but barely extends all the way for my bell mips 2R super full face helmet. If you're a big guy, the straps may be on the tighter side fit wise. Not sure if there are different sizes on these. Love the magnetic connector for the water hose. The bladder is very good, check out the video reviews on YouTube for this back pack. Overall very good if you want to carry the bare essentials.
Great buy
Seriously a super awesome backpack that's light, but can carry everything you need, while staying cool. The only problem I had, was that the employees didn't know very much about the sales. I was told that this backpack, and a tent I wanted was on sale, when I got to the register, none of it was on sale. But still love rei and all their equipment.
