Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect daypack for an all day hike I love Osprey packs, and this one is no exception. It's just the right size for a hike that lasts all day, with room for snacks and some basic gear I like to have for "just in case". Which can be needed pretty frequently when the hiker in question is terminally clumsy...lol. It stays comfortable all day, and is super cute. Super cute isn't a necessity in my gear, but it's always a nice perk. The only thing that keeps this pack from being 5 stars is that the water side mesh pockets are a little hard to reach on the move. I generally prefer water bottles to a hydration bladder, so this can be a bit of a pain. But not enough of one to stop me using the pack.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatile, comfortable. Great Daypack I bought this bag 5 months ago looking for a lightweight comfortable pack that I could take for day hikes. This bag is it. I love that the hydration pack can fit 2L bladder comfortably even with the pack filled. The hip straps are very comfortable, as well as the shoulder straps. My favorite part is that my husband and I have an 18 inch difference in height and he is able to use I comfortably too! Typically we have a hard time finding a product adjusts to both our heights. I highly recommend this daylight!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost perfect! I got this to use as my hiking backpack and, for the most part, I haven't been disappointed. It has more than enough room for everything I need and the front panel keeps me organized. The key clip is especially handy, because that's the last thing I want to go searching for at the end of a long hike! I only have two complaints. One, I wish it had an external bungee to secure an extra jacket. It seems like a no-brainer. Secondly, the shape of the side mesh pockets means my water bottles aren't secure... and meant I had one go skittering down the side of a mountain! It's easy enough to buckle it into the side cinch straps, but it's still annoying. That being said, neither of these are fatal flaws and, for the price, this pack is great!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Average bag that's almost versatile I bought this as a bus commuter bag. I picked it up because it was lightweight, had chest and waist straps, front pocket with a key holder and two water bottle holders. Sadly the waterbottle holders are terrible; the angle of the opening plus the curvature of the bag causes them to fall out all the time! I finally had to use a carabiner to keep mine on. Also the front pocket is not very big. The two interior mesh pockets are nice, but I wish they had made this deeper. Or alternatively put another pocket on the inside if the main compartment, The daylight is a lightweight bag that comes in great colors and almost suited all my needs, but alas the fact it can't hold water bottles very well means I can't recommend this bag to anyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Daypack I bought this for a few summer trips and it was perfect. It's light and the straps are comfortable, but not too bulky. My MacBook fits in the large pocket perfectly, so it's also good as a small airplane carry on. The waist and chest straps were helpful on harder hikes when I didn't want the weight in my pack causing me to lose my balance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Durable and Comfortable I originally bought this pack because it was small enough to be a carry on for the plane. I've had it about a year now, its been with me hiking though mountains, the desert, and the ocean. It's my go to pack for birdwatching and day hikes. I am also pleased with the fit/adjustability I am 5'3 and plus size. Materials are durable and the pack is super well made.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great, but... So, these other reviews being so high? C'mon folks. I love Osprey and this bag is almost freaking perfect. But those side pockets? They are completely worthless. I've not found a single item, water bottle, snacks, keys, earphones, etc. that will stay in. Whatever you put in, it's gonna fall out.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great bag, except for bottle pouches. Really like this bag, except for the pouches on the side. They are not a good fit for the few sizes of water bottles I have, and bottles have fallen out multiple times with regular use. There are straps on each side which allow you to clip a bottle in (which I now do), but this isn't ideal. Otherwise, this bag is very light-weight, and offers good storage for its size. I would just be sure to test out bottles (with a full bag) before buying and committing.

What are all the differences between this pack and the Osprey Daylite Daypack (non-exclusive)? I notice slight style difference and slightly greater capacity. Is that all?

Asked by: MrTwig
Besides colors, one thing that was different between the packs I saw in-store and one that came in online from another vendor is that the REI packs had a small clip to hold up a hydration bladder while the one I ordered (to get the color I wanted) did not. This is probably because the Osprey brand bladder has a rigid back to keep it upright without a clip.

Gear capacity under 'Specs' says 13L, but the ones in the REI store have tags that say 16L. Can someone explain?

Asked by: joanne1212
According to Osprey, this pack is a 13 liter size. We also have the Daylite Plus, which is an REI exclusive, but that pack is a 20 liter size: https://www.rei.com/product/895887/osprey-daylite-plus-daypack

Does Osprey make a waterproof cover for their DayLite pack? If so, does REI carry it?

Asked by: Kindra Mo
Osprey does make a High Visibility Rain cover. The extra small is for packs that are 10 – 20 liters. REI does not sell this rain cover. The REI Duck's Back Rain Cover - 20 Liters will also work: https://www.rei.com/product/855409/rei-ducks-back-rain-cover-20-liters

I'm looking at getting this as an add-on pack for a 2 week hike coming up. I currently have the Aether pack and I'm wondering how this daylite pack attaches to it.

Asked by: anscorey
On the Daylite you will find 4 tri-glide buckles (2 on the top of the shoulder straps and 2 on the hipbelt). On the Aether there are 4 small loops on each corner of the back of the pack. Simply insert the tri-glides on the Daylite into the small loops on the Aether and tighten the straps

what country is the daylite backpack made in

Asked by: miztee
Items can be sourced from or assembled in multiple countries. Many vendors produce the same item in multiple locations. Because of this, we are only able to state the item is imported.

Can the Daylite pack be used in conjunction with either the Aura 65 or the Atmos 65? Looking for something we can use an attachable daypack for day hikes after we reach our campsite.

Asked by: chantillylace
The Daylite pack does not attach to the Aura or Atmos series of packs. The Daylite pack attaches only to the "AddOn" series of packs that include the following: Aether/Ariel Series, Volt/Viva Series, Ace 75, Shuttle Series, Sojourn Series, Farpoint 80, and Porter Series.
