This rain jacket is great! I wore it every single day on vacation to Alaska, and it kept me almost completely dry. The only exception was a four-hour-long kayaking trip in the pouring rain during which my forearms got wet from water dripping down into the sleeves. For that reason, I wish the sleeves were velcro, but that's my only criticism. It looks stylish, is completely waterproof, and actually breathes. I ordered the Pulse color, which is a nice purplish gray. For reference, I am 5'7, 160 lbs, and ordered a medium, which I could still fit a fleece pullover under. This jacket is a great choice if you want something a little more stylish than your standard shell!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This rain coat is nice, casual, lightweight protection against summer down pours. I would not call it breathable but I have been wearing on 85+ degree days when really nothing is breathable. Fit-I really like the dip in the back that cover the booty. I also like that the hood sticks out far enough to keep my glasses from getting wet. My only complaints were, for me, the arms were a little snug and long. I did like the drawstring waist which gives a more fitted appearance than a typical boxy shell though. Color-The only way I can describe the yellow color is that it matches the yellow lines painted in the road.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This coat was a wonderful find! I'm 5' 5" and have a curvy/athletic build (swimmer with hips, coats are hard to find with my height to shoulder and hip ratio). I ordered a large to accommodate my shoulders and was very pleased. This coat is breathable, waterproof, and the waist synchs actually look good. My only complaint is that the wrist cuffs are HUGE and the arms are very long. I have a 5" wrist and I could easily lose 1.5 - 2" of elastic on these cuffs. Solution: The lining of this coat is cute. I double rolled the cuffs and it just looks like an intentional styling choice in the red wine color.
Typically sz 8 petite so I was expecting the waist to be too low, but thought the style would be more forgiving in the hips. So sad it didn't work for me (30" waist 40" hips) in either S or M. If tweaks included either more fabric in the hips or 2-way zipper I would have kept the S. Interior zip pockets and Velcro back hood would be my other wish list items. Pros: lightweight, easy to pack, Cypress = cute army green, cinchable waist, dolphin drop hem, good hem length, and elastic sleeves that look cute pushed up. Cons: finding long torso with low waist-hip ratio to be standard Columbia fit, fabric a bit noisy. Columbia, please consider other body types in your designs. I would have paid more!!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I walk a lot, and the weather is changing from warm to cool rapidly, but right now its at an awkward stage where the weather is unpredictable. I'm a 4'10 woman, and it fits a little big on purpose but its super confortable and warm! It comes down to my knees so it keeps them warm too, especially in the rain, with the nice hood and neck coverage. I also love the elasticized cuffs because I have small hands and wrists and they don't get swallowed up, nor does cold air flow up into my sleeves. 10/10 light but warm jacket for all weather!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been looking for an extremely long time trying to find the best coat. Actually found it when I saw my friend’s and knew it was what I wanted. The quality of Columbia always wins. I wanted one long enough to cover well in really bad rains. I live in the south, so I didn’t need it to be too heavy. But I wanted it to be enough that I could have layers underneath it. People said the medium ran a little big, so I thought it would be perfect for all situations. Look forward to years of using it.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought two of these for two different locations. Specifically, for walking the dogs and the other, for getting my daily walks in no matter the weather. I like the colors I selected...sea salt and the red. Love the hood and especially the longer length in the back. I bought the MED as I like plenty of roominess with the option to wear warm layers underneath in case its cold. Keep in mind, this is a light weight rain jacket. Perfect for keeping you dry in the rain. I would recommend this purchase.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wanted to love this jacket, but I felt it was much too long for me. As a petite woman (5'5, 110 lbs), it was not flattering at all. I thought the drawstrings at the waist would help to give it a better silhouette, but it just didn't work for me. It also has a high-low hem, meaning the back of the jacket was significantly longer than the front (went below the bum), and looked like a coattail. The material was also very noisy. I bought this for a hike but sadly had to return.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very comfortable and functional design - which is important when I'm walking a couple miles every day in the rain. Fitted in a nice way so it can be worn on its own without being baggy or with thick layers beneath. Hood is a nice shape. When done up completely, the fabric & zipper are not agitating at the chin. The only downfall for me is that the sleeves are about an inch too long, which seems to be an across the board issue for me with Columbia products.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this jacket to replace another Columbia jacket that was 15 years old and still like new, however I lost enough weight to need a smaller size. This jacket lacks some features that I prefer. The old jacket has snaps and a zipper so while riding bikes, you can easily secure or open the front. The new jacket just has a zipper so you have to stop riding to make adjustments. The wrist size on the older jacket could be adjusted. Not so on the new one.
