Had to return immediately

Purchased this jacket online with high expectations since I usually love Patagonia products. However, when I tried on the jacket after collecting it in the store, I was disappointed by both the fit (I purchased an XS but it was still too loose, boxy and unflattering) and even more importantly, the zipper which was getting stuck. The bad performance of the zipper was an absolute show-stopper, since I was hoping to use the jacket in scenarios where I could quickly wear or remove. Very cheaply made. Thanks REI however for the quick, no-hassle return policy.

Great for rainy day hikes

When I first got this jacket it seemed so paper thin I didn't think it could be useful for anything. The jacket is so thin and light that it feel like you are under dressed. Last night I wore this jacket for a 15 mile hike in 55 degrees and rain. I had a sleeveless microfiber shirt underneath. Not only was I impressed with the fact I was warm but the jacket was also breathable. It would have been perfect if there was a hood. This is a great jacket if you need a windbreaker for hiking and don't want to trap sweat. Because it's so light I will roll it up and keep it with me as an extra layer whenever I hike. This is a really useful product for the 4 season hiker. Don't let the lightweight nature fool you. The ability to allow you to regulate body temp in wind and rain makes this jacket 5 stars. I bought the purple one and the color is nice. I wash and dry it on low setting and it holds up without changing size. This jacket would be great for a hiker, biker, avid walker, dog walking, boating, etc.

Overpriced rain jacket

I was very disappointed in the quality of this item priced at $199. It might be worth it at $50 at most
