This model had old style "two bolt" SPD fittings
I bought these specific shoes because they are fitted with both the 3 bolt present-day SPD fittings as well as the legacy 2 bolt fittings. Be advised the newer models of this shoe only support 3 bolt. Plus they were a great value. I had to modify a Shimano SH-71 cleat (with the "wings") to work with this shoe by filing off the ends of the cleat platform so the wings could extend out. Otherwise all you have is a bare cleat on this shoe which is very hard to walk in. Overall, a great fitting shoe with lots of ventilation and the famous Shimano fit that my feet really like.
Comfortable upgrade
After tons of research on shoes, I got these RP5S. These are an upgrade from my old shimano sport shoe which was too small. These have nice arch support and fit great for me. I got them from REI on sale and used the dividen and got a helluva deal on these. I am still a novice cyclist and this is my first full season of riding. Mine had the greyish tint on them and just used a leather conditioner to shine them up a little. The only thing is the clip doesn't sit secure and clink when I walk in them. Get if youre a starting out and getting more serious about putting in the miles.

Excellent shoe for the price
I have been using the cheaper SPD shoe for the summer, but felt the clip is pushing my bottom of the foot and feel painful when I do the climb. Once I switch to RP5, all the pain go away, the carbon bottom is stiff and I have switched to SPD_SL pedal, I feel much better power transfer as well. I am so happy to get it at half price!
Great Upgrade
If you are new and looking to take cycling to the next level, these may be the shoe for you. I was using a low end shoe, and decided to try these on in store, within seconds I knew I needed to buy them.
Great road bike shoes
Very comfortable. So far so good. No long rides yet because smoke is too suffocating in southern Oregon.
Love these shoes
Perfect fit and very well made. The buckle takes some attention
