Great Frame and Group -- Some Cheap Components
I have now logged about 1200 miles on this bike since picking it up in February. It has been a real joy. Handles well, can climb anything without leaving the saddle, smooth quick, and going to be great for even some light touring. HOWEVER, I popped a spoke on my rear rim at about mile 800--as you can imagine, I have now replaced 2 additional spokes over the past 400 miles. I am going to be replacing the rims. In addition to the rims, the Spyre disc pads already need replacing after 1200miles. I am not clear on their composition, could be soft organic pads, in any case I didn't expect to be sinking so much money in the maintenance after only 1200mi. Otherwise, I highly recommend this ride--biggest plus for me being that its frame build and headset put you somewhere between a racing frame and a touring frame.
Awesome bike
Fast, smooth and flawless. This bike is not a lot heavier than the carbon version but costs a whole lot less. I like the riding position, didn't like the seat which I changed out. Very agile and responsive.
Close to greatness - but lousy promax brakes
This bike is a great value for the frame and included group-set, but I was very disappointed in the braking performance. Pure rubbish for a mechanical disc brake. I am speaking to the Promax Render R brakes that were included in my build, not the Spyre brakes they have currently listed under specs. I would strongly recommend this bike if it weren't for the cheap brakes. Be sure to check out which brakes they are including with your build, and avoid those promax brakes if you want to actually stop in the rain.
Synapse review
I’ve logged about 4000 miles on the synapse and really love the bike. I have done two centuries in the last month. The bad, the wheels. Popped a spoke at around 1200 miles. Then again at 2000 miles. This is also when the rear tire needed to be changed. I decided to put Carbon 40’s and that really improved the bikes feel. I tried 3 different Selle seats and ended back at the stock seat for most comfort. Brakes are great, overall bike is stable with Good feel to the road on tubeless Schwalbe Pro. 105’s do the job very nicely. Needed to changed the front chainrings to 52/36 Have scored a few KOM’s with this bike on Strava
Sweet Ride!!!!
Love this bike. It is a great ride. I have put just over a hundred miles on it and it rocks. Comfortable ride and still very responsive when you need speed.
