Absolutely in love with this jacket

I purchased this jacket about three weeks from TNF store and I am absolutely in love. I can't stand big puffy coats so this jacket is perfect. It's thin but amazingly very warm. I got an extra large because I like to layer in the winter but I haven't even had to layer yet since it keeps me so warm. The only part of me that is ever cold is the parts that can't aren't covered. It's perfect for the rain also. The droplets just roll off and never soak into the coat. I love how I will be able to wear it in every season. It looks great too. I've gotten so many compliments on it. If you're thinking about getting it just do it. You won't regret it.

FANTASTIC MULTI-PURPOSE JACKET

I wanted one jacket that would do a lot of things and almost gave up hope. I go between Los Angeles and the northeast so I wanted a jacket that would be light enough for LA winter or could be layered to keep me warm in the snow, AND I wanted it to be waterproof as we prepare for El Nino in LA and snow back east. I went to REI in California, several Patagonia stores, all over the internet and couldn't find one jacket that would do it all. FINALLY hit the jackpot at REI in SoHo (NYC) where the saleswoman said this is the one and only jacket for me, and she's right. It runs pretty true to size, and I got it big enough so I could put another layer underneath. The quilted jacket zips out super easy 1-2-3, and the shell definitely keeps out wind and water.

I'm in love!

After a couple weeks of wear, I am in love with this jacket! I was a little skeptical when it arrived because it is so incredibly light, however after wearing it on the slopes, the wind and water proof shell did exactly that and the Thermoball technology is so warm! The fit is exactly as stated, so there are no worries there. I was wasn't completely sold on this color originally, but it is actually a little bit darker than it looks in the picture and I have received so many compliments on it. Overall, I have absolutely no complaints what so ever and am so glad I bought this coat!!! I don't see myself having to by a new coat anytime soon.

Good Warmth

My friend purchased this jacket first and I was able to try it on before purchasing. I would never have purchased this jacket without trying it on first. I would normally have purchased a large but found that the xlarge actually fit better. The xlarge gives me the extra room needed to wear layers underneath it. My only complaint is that the liner is not secured enough. I find that putting it on the sleeves of the liner tend to stick out beyond the end of the jacket. I have to pull it back from the inside of the jacket to get it to be sleeve length. I have no complaint for its warmth and protection from the wind and rain. I have already worn it several times.

Best Jacket Ever!

I absolutely LOVE this jacket. I ordered this jacket online, and I have to admit that I was a little worried to find out how light the jacket was. I wanted something warm to wear to NY on our vacation (but also liked that I can separate the jackets and have 3 jackets in one). There happened to be a nasty Nor'easter that hit while we were there. It started out pouring rain, and then the temperature dropped and it changed to snow. The jacket was waterproof and very warm. I was never cold while wearing the jacket. It was also extremely windy while we were in NY and the jacket was windproof. I couldn't be happier with this jacket.

Wish I Would Have Bought One Years Ago!

I bought one of these for my husband last year and it looks great on him. Then I noticed on a recent trip how lightweight it was and how pliable it was. Perfect for traveling, and home of course. So we got home and I ordered one for myself. So happy I did, it's perfect and I wish I hadn't wasted money on other jackets. This is the one to have. I've worn it in 4 degree temperatures with winds, snow, and general traveling. I ordered it one size up so that I could sweaters under it and not feel too confined, and it's perfect. A size down might have worked too. These two pieces are perfect so all sorts of travel around the world.

Versatile jacket

This is a versatile with many features that I look for in a winter jacket. Love having pit zips; I love being able to ventilate without taking off the jacket. Love the multiple ways to adjust the hood. Love the vecro wrist adjustment for custom fit. (It makes no sense to me how some other jackets have loose elastic at the wrist or a couple of snaps which do not allow for custom adjustments). Love the Napoleon pocket for quick access to small items. I thought the medium looked like a better fit for me, but I went with the large size because it was more comfortable. I am 5 ft tall, 130 lb, 34C and consistency wear REI brand shorts/pants in size 6. The proportions of the medium jacket looked good on me, the sleeve length was perfect. But it felt a tight around the armhole when I am wearing only a long sleeve cotton shirt. I really don't think I have big arms. The large size jacket felt more comfortable when I moved my arms around/up, but the sleeve length on the large jacket was longer than the sleeve length on the medium jacket which gave a bunched up appearance. I decided I could live with that. I'd rather go for comfort first. So I bought the large size. It seems so strange to me to buy a large size North Face jacket when I have another North Face (snow/ski) jacket from 15 years ago that is labeled X-Small and still fits me fine today. I guess the jackets were cut more generously back then. I bought this jacket for my mom for Christmas. She told me she loved the jacket and mentioned that she gets compliments when she wears it. So this jacket is mom approved. :)

Excellent

I purchased this jacket last night (large). Tried it this morning at the harbor in Oceanside, CA (it was very cold this morning. This jacket was like no other I had, it was actually very warm and that was a very good feeling. My only issue is that I'm wondering if I should have purchased the large that I have or the medium (chest size is 41 on the end of the size chart or is large at the beginning of the size chart). The jacket is great, I'm just wondering if I purchased the right size. I'll figure it out. Outstanding warmth and I have never had a jacket keep me this warm.

Love it! Waterproof without the "stiff" feel or noise.

I love this layering masterpiece. I was tired of the crinkly waterproof jackets that make a lot of noise - you know what I'm taking about. Purchased this because I needed a white coat for football games (I'm an avid college football fan with season tickets and we do themes). When I took it out of the box, I thought North Face sent me the wrong coat - thinking it was way too soft to be waterproof. How wrong I was! I tailgated in this coat for 6 hours in the pouring rain and every inch covered by this coat was DRY! It rained for 70% of the game and I remained dry and comfortable. Don't hesitate to buy this coat!

North Face Thermoball jacket

I bought this jacket for my wife and she loves it. Work colleagues are beginning to threaten to steal it from her. We have used it in a couple of different climates already and it has performed well. It is compressible, yet keeps then heat in and the cold out. It's a neat design that you don't see everyday.
