Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great boot for the kiddos My daughter is comfortable in these boots. Easy to wash in the sink to get mud off. Boot stays dry when walking in mud and water. Great grip on rocks and slippery surface. Comfortable boot when putting on the miles. So far we are satisfied.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Park Hopping 7 days, 6 nights - 11.6 miles at Lassen Volcanic National Park and 9.2 miles at Olympic National Park, Ozette Triangle in the Merrell Capra Mid WP Hiking Boots. We hiked in dusty volcanic heat, mountain snow, coastal rain, beach sand, Northwest mud and on slippery beach rocks. The boots performed great. My daughter loved the styling and didn't complain once about her feet being wet, hot or soar. The Merrell Capra is a great all terrain boot for just about any condition you can stomp out.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Hiking Boot for the Littles There's a lot to like about these kids hiking boots...from the sturdy toe protection, the fantastic traction, to the solid ankle support. The neoprene around the top of the ankle is a nice touch to soften the material for less irritation. Our kids have hiked in rain, snow, muddy, and dry trail conditions without any complaints or issues on durability. The only thing that would improve this boot would be to increase the size of the pull loop on the back of the boot. It is so small that I cannot put my finger in to help them put their boots on (even my kids have a tough time getting their fingers in the loop to pull...and no they do not have stubby sausage fingers). If you're looking for a solid hiking boot for your kids, check out the Merrell Capra.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from She finally is not slipping while bouldering. My daughter has started hiking and bouldering with me. Prior to these shoes she was either uncomfortable or slipping when she was on a steep grade. These shoes were comfortable and gave her the stability she needs and less worry me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Kids love these boots Bought these boots in different sizes for 3 of our kids. The top of the boot was tight in the beginning but that's to be expected. My kids wear these to school almost every day. They wore them today on a wet and muddy hike for 6 miles and feet were warm and dry when we got back to the car despite tramping through ankle deep puddles and mud the whole way!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Waterproof! I bought these for my daughter and they are actually waterproof. We went puddle-jumping last weekend, and while her pants were soaked, her feet were completely dry and warm.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable, kid loves them I bought it about a month ago for 8 years old daughter. She is wearing them to school when it's raining, hiking, to a park. They are very comfortable, keep the feet dry, warm. Easy to put on.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great shoes for hiking, walking or going to school My daughter picked these out for school shoes for this year. The only reason I gave them 4 instead of 5 stars is because they are not a shoe that you can get on quickly. She has to loosen them up quite a bit to get them on and then re-tie them. For what they are intended to be, they are made well.

Would these boots be fine for winter hiking?  I see that they're waterproof, but will they be warm enough?

Asked by: BarbR0X
These boots will not provide much warmth. Thicker socks can help, but it would be best to get boots with insulation in them.
