Rated 3 out of 5 by from Could be great but is just good Love the light weight, design, number and size of pockets is spot on. Location of pockets brilliant. Length of telescoping handle is heinous. Must have been designed for someone 5' tall or shorter. Creates stress on my shoulders and trips me with every step. It could have been remedied by just having the handle begin at the base of the bag adding the needed 5 extra inches. Horrible design flaw. The other thing that would benefit this bag is to have a piggyback strap for looping gear or a second bag. If Osprey has an option to put in a longer handle please let me know, I am all in for it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great small sized bag I had the smaller 18" ozone but needed just a little bit more space. My biggest concern was overhead size on the regional jets i fly in. I know the 18" fit great and the 22" was just an inch higher. It still fit fine without any problems. It also meets many (but not all) international carrier profiles as well. I'll be testing this part out in the next few months. I don't mind the handle but the way it twists makes me nervous. I wish it had two bars instead of one so i could slide my timbuk2 two bag over it. With one bar the bag slides and won't stay on. The bar also takes up space on the inside of the bag which eliminates some internal space and makes it bumpy. A sacrifice had to made somewhere. Bottom line is that it's working for me and I plan to keep using it. The Hoodoo red is easy to spot when it do need to check it in.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sized up from our 18" My wife and I both have the 18" Ozone, because we often fly those small regional jets. They are just a little small for my wife on our weekend overnights (she packs lots more stuff than I do), so I got her the 22". It also works as a carry-on on standard jets. Lots of room, and pockets for the little stuff. Osprey makes quality goods, so that will not be an issue. I am less enamored of the single pull - it is a little short for me (6'1") and twists if I pull too fast. Love all the handles, though.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nice idea - but bad center of gravity I've been using this for about a year now and I like the concept of two bags that separate, But sadly when the pack is attached to the roller bag it falls over when fully loaded. As a designer I've been tempted to retrofit the foot of the roller bag with an extender that prevents this, but I haven't figured out how. I have a relatively heavy laptop in the backpack that may be contributing to this problem, but that's how I travel and can't transfer it back to the roller bag because I keep camera gear there. I guess I will just continue to curse the design and lean the bag up against a support when they're being rolled around. Argggg....

Rated 2 out of 5 by from not the quality i expected As a carry on it's done well by me and it fits on the regional planes. Unfortunately sometimes they don't believe me that it will fit and they force me to check it in. That's when the problems started. I'm on my second bag thinking the first was just a defect. The aluminum (or whatever metal it is) on the bottom that keeps it standing up bent the first time i had to check it in. The second time it just got worse. Now it just tips over forward since it can't stand up by itself. I'll be returning this one as well and searching for something new to replace which might be hard as I otherwise love this bag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredibly Durable and light - Easy on your Bones We've had two of these 22" and other Ozone luggage for over a year. They've travelled 15,000+ miles with us - 30-40 stops, drops and tumbles... Carry on... put through... Perfection for us is light-weight and durable. This is perfection... This is toughest and most flexible luggage we have ever owned (married 40 years). Sorry we didn't buy it years ago...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Week in Mexico + Osprey Ozone = Paradise I own an Osprey backpack that took me through two weeks of hiking Philmont, so I like the product line. When I was looking for a new piece of luggage for a trip to Mexico the Osprey line caught my eye. I opted for the smaller bag due to the REI sales rep reminding me how to pack correctly. Since I'm a casual traveler (shorts, t-shirts, sandals, etc) you can roll most of it tighter, even use compression sacks (I didn't) to optimize the space. Well, it worked. I managed to cram three pairs of shoes/sandals, shirts, shorts even a pair of dress slacks and two button down shirts into the Ozone with no problems. The bag is typical Osprey quality, very good stitching, quality zippers and roomy compartments everywhere. There were other reviews mentioning the handle quality, mine must be newer, it's been perfect. Overall, another high quality Osprey product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Osprey Ozone 22" - exceeds my expectations Light weight, easy to maneuver, big wheels are great especially on irregular surfaces like cobblestone streets. This Osprey replaced my conventional roll-on. I always carry-on, even for 2+ week trips. Osprey has more space than I anticipated. Requires different packing techniques. I travel a lot for business and pleasure (not necessarily for outdoor activities, typically pack dress and casual shirts, 2 pants, 1 pair of shoes, plus many other items). I also use a small daypack for my 2nd carry-on to hold toiletries, book, some snacks. Soft sides let you expand or contract to the space you need. Has lots of features like the handle near the wheels for easy removal from overhead racks. I don’t think the divided compartments will accommodate full hiking boots, but that is not a problem for me. I wish Osprey Ozone had a strap so I could hang my other bag (might be a computer bag) on it. A loose strap that would tie around the handle rod would work. I highly recommend this bag for roll-on.

I will be traveling on Aer Lingus to Ireland.   From their website carry on  Max size 55cm H (21.5") x 40cm W (15.5") x 24cm D (9.5") Will this Osprey 22 meet Aer Lingus requirement for carry on?

Asked by: The Biggest Kahuna
This item measures 22 x 14 x 9 inches. Since your airline requires the width to be less than 15.5" and the depth to be less than 9.5", this will not meet your airline requirements.

Previous Ozone was smaller than this model and fit perfectly in any commuter overhead. The distance between the wheels was 13" and just made it. I recall the next size up would not normally fit because it was wider. Is it still 13" between wheels?

Asked by: tekkie
The width of the wheels on the 22 inch Ozone Wheeled Luggage is 13 inches (outside to outside).

Since Consumers Report found hang tags and website specs often misrepresented the overall dimensions of carry-on luggage, has anyone measured the ACTUAL outside dimensions of this bag? Will it pass the BritishAir 22"x14"x9" steel check bin definately?

Asked by: BBTX
We took some measurements by hand and found the following: Height – floor to top – 24" Width – 14 ½" Depth – 9"

I don't feel secure checking in luggage on international flights. Does this bag fit in the over heard compartment on international flights?

Asked by: ROSE'WINE
This luggage measures 22 x 14 x 9 inches, or 45 linear inches. Most airlines require a piece of carry-on luggage to be no bigger than 45 linear inches (L + W + H) to meet carry-on size restrictions. This can vary so please check with your airline ahead of time.

I'm really interested in this bag however I'm a bit concerned about the strength of the polyester this bag is made of - only 210D when a lot of other bags I'm looking at are 840-900D. Can anyone speak to the durability?

Asked by: delphia
The Ozone Wheeled Luggage does have a lightweight fabric which keeps the weight down on the luggage itself, but it is still very durable despite the fabric being light.
