Poor Design/No Support from Salomon
This particular binding style has a flaw--snow can and does get packed into the area under the hinged hook plate. This does not happen all of the time but under certain snow conditions even in a groomed track you will have to stop, remove your skis, and clear the snow/ice under the plate. Salomon offers no solution to this problem. My advice: if you wish to stick with Salomon bindings to go with your Pilot boots you can use the Profil binding and avoid this issue.
