The color of these is perfect. However, I think mine may have gotten stuck to some kind of adhesive material in packaging because there are several sticky parts of the laces. Also I do feel like these may start to fray a lot sooner than I had hoped. I’ll be looking into getting the alternative to these that are not flat or the reflective red ones in 61” to replace these.
Quality laces for Danner boots
I needed a pair of laces for my 43-year-old Danner Model 6490 hikers (yes, you read that right, I bought them in1980). I wanted them to be as original as possible and these were perfect. They fit the boot, are the same color and style I had and are even a bit thicker than the original laces. Glad to have original equipment for my vintage boots!

I have to be honest,
I have to be honest, this was a purely aesthetic purchase. I always wanted to give my mountain light hikers that iconic hiking boot look with the flat red laces. However, there was a nice surprise. They seem to add a little extra support and comfort for some hard-to-explain reason. It may be because they flex more or distribute the stress better.. at any rate, they work great and stay tied. I love them.
The flat laces are too
The flat laces are too wide and thick and don’t fit behind the hooks on the boot. They don’t stay wrapped and they keep coming untied. They are not like the same original laces that came with the boats. Worse boot laces I have ever bought. If you order new laces for your dancer boots don’t order the flat places order the coil laces. Assuming the coil laces are better.
