Rated 5 out of 5 by from the IPX8 rating is no joke - very durable the IPX8 rating on this thing i no joke. i've been using this little guy for EDC (replaced an old single AAA Maglight). was very skeptical at first, but having seen it survive a full wash cycle in the washer and 45 min on HIGH in the dryer (it was left in the pocket of my pants)... i'd say this one's definitely worth it. well that was months ago and happy to report it's still working just the same as when i bought it over a year ago. about the only thing i'd ask for would be an adjustable focus, other than that, this thing is hardly larger than a AA cell and very carry friendly. my maglight on the otherhand, had fused shut at the battery cap. either due to a battery that had leaked within the flashlight, or corrosion at the cap.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powerful light in an ultra compact package I'm a bit of a flash-a-holic and love collecting lights. This is a fantastic little light. And I mean little. You can easily toss it in your pocket or attach it to your key chain and hardly notice it's there. I normally am not a fan of AAA lights because for not a whole lot more size you can run a AA light and get double the runtime and brightness. But this thing is so small and efficient it's worth it. Had it for about a month and use it in the morning for 10-15 minutes on low and I haven't needed to change the battery yet. Overall I'm really pleased with this light and feel it's a great addition to anyone's pocket or key chain.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stopped working after two months I bought this because I like the compact size and the three different level of brightness. After a couple of months of use, it stopped working. I was not able to twist the top to turn on the light. I used a pair of pliers to twist it loose and there was a small "pop" sound as if some air was released from the twist. So it worked again temporary. The next time I tried it again, it had the same issue. I used the pliers again. It did the "pop" sound again. But this time the light did not come on. I had enough of it and three it out. I thought this was a good product given its price. Something that will a last me a while. Guess not.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good flashlight for everyday carry REI should correct the description of this light to show the mid-level output of 25 Lumen. Another website ( posted the E05 output as: "Three Output Modes: High: 85 Lumens (Ni-MH: 1 hour; Alkaline: 45 min.) Mid: 25 Lumens (Ni-MH: 4 hours 15 min.; Alkaline: 4 hours 15 min.) Low: 8 Lumens (Ni-MH: 14 hours 30 min.; Alkaline: 15 hours)" Showing just the high and low levels gives the impression that there are only two output levels.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great light that is always there when you need it The Fenix E05 is a handy little flashlight that is hardly bigger than the AAA battery inside. I have been carrying it on my keychain daily since I bought it. Though it is slightly larger, it is vastly superior to the Photon Micro-Light that it replaced. The brightness settings make it very versatile and useful for a wide range of tasks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect, just don't lose it! A small, light flash that you can take anywhere. Take along an extra battery if you're on a thru hike--you get scant notice for a dead battery. With spare battery, the load is still way under 2 ounces. No need for a ten million lumen headlight when this takes care of most needs on a trip. Fits really great in your pocket or purse, really handy in a dark theater etc. The disadvantages: 1. Until I sew a loop onto my hat/headband I have to hold it in my mouth if I need both hands. 2. Published battery life is a bit short when compared to that for some of the efficient headlamps.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A precision AAA light Love this little guy. It has become one of 4 Fenix lights I carry on a daily basis. A clean, well- formed, and perfectly focused beam when you need one. So light and compact you can almost forget you have it on you. I have one Fenix AAA lamp with the tailswitch, and this one with its twist switch, and like them both equally.
