Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for commuting and touring I got these about one month ago and have been using them near daily since. They are just flexible enough to barely notice you are still wearing bike shoes and the clips are recessed enough so they don't click along the floor. I find them great for the daily commute and great for the long tours when I need to hop off and use the bathroom or go to a restaurant or get a great picture. I've tried several other shoes (Giro reupublic, shimano mt 44, specialized cadet) that were just too stiff to walk around on. These shoes give a great balance that is very hard to achieve, and they do it an an unbelievable price!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Casual riding Excellent quality material and craftsmanship on these shoes, but the sizing is way off. There was some glue residue along the seam of the sole, but I figure that would wear away. However, the sizing is way way off. I am a 43 in everything and I could barely fit my toes. Haven't decided if I buy the bigger size yet, but likely I will go for the 44 or 45 and see if it fits. Kinda frustrating because shipping these back if they don't fit will alter the value tremendously.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great commuting shoe I have wide feet with high arches. The Rumbles are true to size if a bit narrow, but they break in nicely. Great looking shoe. Good quality. Fairly stiff which is great for riding but a little too stiff for long walks. Highly recommended.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Seems like a great casual riding/touring shoe The Rumble is very comfortable out of the box. It is a supportive shoe, with a firm, solid feel to it, but the soles are quite flexible compared to a high-end performance bike shoe. Of course, this is intentional, and this bike is not intended for high performance, but for that niche of comfortable shoes that are still SPD compatible. Some have noted having clip-in issues with the Rumble. I use Crank Bros Candys and Mallets, and have had no issues at all clipping in or out. I normally wear a 43/9.5 US (which have fit me perfectly in two other Giro shoes - the Republic LX and the Privateer) but I decided to risk ordering a 44 instead for the Rumble. I'm glad I did - I think a 43 would have been too tight with anything other than a thin sock. Time will tell, but these shoes are very comfortable without being too soft/flimsy and I can see using them for a lot of my more casual bike endeavors, as well as for bikepacking trips where a comfortable shoe in camp is as important as one the bike.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The sizing was fine for me Purchased these for 16 mile round trip commuting. I headed warning and ordered a size 45/11 US (usually I'm a 10 US). I have "wide" feet, but only compared to my heel, which is relatively narrow. I had to return to get the smaller size. Realistically, I could have used the 45's, but the toe box was far too roomy, borderline sloppy, in addition to too much length. I'm not sure why people were sizing up 1-2 full sizes. Maybe it's because I climb and don't want all that extra room (when standing, the Rumble VR's had a thumb+ in between big toe and shoe's end). With these conflicting reviews, just go into a store and try them on! The shoes look awesome (I got the blue ones), they do not get chewed up by my platform-pedal metal pins, they're stiff enough for proper hill climbs, and the heel grab feels awesome!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Sized Small I purchased these shoes online and for sizing, went by the scale offered by REI. When the shoes arrived, and I must say, in a timely manner, they were so small, that I couldn't even get my foot into them. I took them to our local REI store, where I was able to try on the same shoe in 2 sizes larger, which then fit fine. Unfortunately, my color was not available in my size and desired color. My new shoes should be here sometime this next week and at that time, I will be able to give a more accurate review.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shoe for road, trail, and even walking Love this shoe! I use these shoes every day for my morning commute as well as road cycling on the weekend. Very comfortable for walking as well. I have a decently wide toe box but they still fit like a glove

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Shoe For Urban/Commute Cycling Great kicks if you need to walk around like a normal person after getting off your bike. Calling the laces "red" is a bit of a stretch, but I'm well over that with how well they function.

What kind of shoe covers should I buy to use it for rainy and cold weathers? My experience is that not all shoe covers fit this well because of the thicker heel of the shoe.

If sized properly you can use a variety of cycling shoe covers. Please use the following link to view our current selection: https://www.rei.com/c/cycling-shoe-covers

I purchased this shoe for spinning class. Did I  make a good choice?

Asked by: 43TrucK
The Rumble VR Bike Shoes are a fine choice and should work for your spin class. Most cycling gyms use SPD pedals (2-hole system). We would recommend checking with your gym to make sure they are using SPD pedals. Another thing to keep in mind is that cleats do not come with bike shoes. You would need to SPD cleats in addition to the shoes. https://www.rei.com/product/738015/shimano-sh-56-multi-directional-release-spd-cleats
