No way to tell that this is actually two pads!

This product is actually two pads (enough for one wheel). There is nothing on the product description that indicates this. There is a picture of one pad. Description says it comes with two pins, but nothing about how many pads. How about putting somewhere that you’re getting two pads? or a picture of the packaging? Now I have four pads and I only needed two.

Quiet. Good grip.

I replaced a set of semi metalics on my daily commuter with these. I couldn't be happier. They have a LITTLE less bite than the semi metallics, but nothing unsafe. I still find stopping to be easy even downhill at speed with a fully loaded bike. The difference is stopping power is noticeable, but not significant. (Note; this is with hydraulic brakes). And the 5% reduction (not scientific) in stopping power is more than made up for in the smooth operation. No squealing. No vibrations. No god awful turkey gobble sound. They just work quietly and effectively. They do need to be fully bedded in before taking them out on the street though. I found a quiet hill and did 15 runs on the fronts and backs to get them properly bedded. Since that I haven't given them a single though.

Great pads, price...not so much

I love the pads. They work great and I've never had any squeaking or other problems. I think they last a good amount of time. The 3 stars is because I was misled by the product description, which states "set of two." Based on some comparison shopping, it looked like the price paid would be a decent price. I received the pads and, only after a lengthy discussion with a sales rep over the phone, did I come to understand that I should "use the picture" as a way of understanding what comes in the package. I guess that makes sense. Regardless, I think there are better prices out there for these pads if they cost this much for each wheel. Hopefully REI will update the description soon to make things clearer.

Easy Peasy :-)

The original Shimano B01S pads on rear brake somehow got contaminated and were squealing badly when the brake was applied. Tried cleaning them with alcohol and then brake cleaner. No good. So, bought new replacements. SUPER-easy to install. I think it took 3 minutes. (And I'm pretty clumsy mechanically.) They work PERFECTLY. Lots of stopping power. Cheap, easy, fast. I'm happy. :-)

You Get What You Pay For...

If you are going to be using these for anything more than commuting or cruising then you should avoid. I was replacing these every 2 months on my enduro mtb wondering why they were wearing out so fast. Then I finally bit the bullet and paid for the Jagwire pads instead. Those pads have lasted over a year under the same riding conditions. Performance is fine, they just wear out in no time.

Good Breaks, Excellent Customer Service!!!

Breaks are working fine as well. Misunderstanding and the shop replaced both front and rear breaks. I told them I only needed the fronts changed and with little negotiating I was given the extra parts and service for free.
