Safety for Beginner Snowboarder with wrist issues

These gloves are great for snowboarding and are waterproof for inevitable falls in the snow. They provide a Velcro-strap for quick tightening and keeping the wrist guard in place, as well as a quick-release cord for fast tightening so snow doesn't under the gloves. I haven't taken them in frigid conditions yet, but they felt warm on the mountain in sub-20 F weather and lots of falling. The gloves are a bulky fit so I recommend trying the gloves on if you can, or going for a smaller size if you're between two sizes. I normally get size Large gloves, but I needed a medium in these so I would still be able to tighten my helmet and use whatever lacing/boa system is on my boots. I have been practicing my falling making sure to fall on my ars3 and bend the knees when going backwards, and when forward falling on the knees and trying to use my body. But sometimes instincts kick in and my forearm or hands go out. These gloves have protected my wrists, one of which I constantly have problems with even with normal weight exercises and that is worth the money alone to me.

Good product... with caveats

Pros: very warm, excellent waterproof qualities. Wrist guards definitely provide support and strengthening. Internal splints are removable, which makes the glove more flexible and increases utility for a range of activity. Velcro wrist wraps provide extra wrist support and also can help keep the glove under or over jacket sleeves depending on wearer's preference. Cons: No ventilation and hard to dry out. I found my hands/wrists sweating with moderate activity. There are no ventilation zippers to enable airflow to adjust your hand warmth based on rising or falling temperatures and activity. Accordingly, the gloves can get very moisture inside just from your body warmth. Once damp, they are very hard to dry out.

They work well

Warm, fit true to size and the wrist guards while convenient, also work. I purchased these for snowboarding and they've been put through their paces! I've used them in varying conditions from wet to powder snow and they've stayed dry all day. The convenience of built in wrist guards can't be beat - while not as supportive as individual guards they work well and being removable is a bonus and adds flexibility to the use of the glove.

Best snowboard gloves on the market

I bought these gloves over two years ago when I leaned to snowboard. I have to say I'm a bit older so it takes me a while to learn and I've fallen hundreds of times in two years. Luckily these gloves have protected my wrists from really severe falls that would of fractured my bones otherwise. I've used these gloves in temperatures of -40 in northern Michigan to 45 degrees in spring skiing in Park City snd aleays felt comfortable. Highly recommended!!!

best wrist guard glove

I bought this just in time for my 5th day of snowboarding ever. Lots of falls, no wrist problems at all. This has built-in removable wrist guards for the palm side as well as the backside of your wrist. I would not remove them if I were you. When wearing the gloves, you hardly notice the wrist guard aspect of the gloves. I personally like the lining. It is made of fleece, not the scratchy material that most other gloves have, even those that are much more expensive. That said, all my favorite gloves have fleece lining. Stayed very dry, compared to, say, leather gloves (remember, I fall a lot). If snow/ice gets in, just shake it out. I would say pricing is very reasonable given the protection it affords. Comfortable, dry, very warm. The gloves have straps so you don't lose them somewhere. Compared to the stand-alone wrist guards, same manufacturer, I prefer this because those have support only on the palm side. Plus, it is very hard to find gloves to go over the stand-alone kind comfortably. I had to buy a large pair of gloves ( I wear a medium normally) to go over the stand-alone kind, and still not that comfy. I wore the stand-alone wrist guards with a LARGE leather pair of gloves and they were soaked and heavy by noon. I would purchase this even if I were an advanced snowboarder. The extra protection is just not that bulky and therefore not noticeable. If I were to pick very minor things to improve, I would say a narrower wrist band(see the picture), a more robust powder cuff (remember I face plant a lot) and, perhaps, different colors. Easy to lose a black glove in my opinion. Oh and, I am a surgeon. Can't afford to break my wrists.

Great for Snowboarding

I got these for the wrist guards to go snowboarding. They feel very comfortable and are warm. Ladies size was not available when I bought these. I used the measuring guide. They fit good around the hand but the fingers are long for my short hands. This is a problem with most gloves

Velcro reaping off

Second season wearing it and the Velcro on the glove side is reaping off. Second set of gloves I buy. First one lasted two seasons. If you want a lasting glove, I don’t recommend this one.

Great pair of gloves

I just got into snowboarding recently and purchased these gloves because a friend advised me to invest in wrist guards. They are comfortable, warm, and offer great protection. It is also nice that the guards are removable if you choose to wear the gloves for some other reason. I choose to wear these gloves with liner gloves and I have not had any issues after half a dozen uses.
