Terrible. Avoid for MTB.
Considering the lack of reviews I knew I was taking a chance on this product. Easy installation and seemed, but it showed its lack of durability once on the bike. Only took four rides before the flimsy plastic it's made of completely broke apart and I lost my bottle and cage. I'd say this would be fine for cruising around the city, but if you need to run another bottle on your MTB then look somewhere else.

So far so good
Bought one of these to mount second water bottle on down tube of an older bike. Mounted easily and bottle cage mounted easily to it. Appears to be well made and durable. Have done a couple of 25-30 mile rides and it worked fine. Only drawback is how far it extends from the down tube. Had to put it a little higher than I wanted to clear the other bottle.

I bought this to mount on my seat post. I don't see how a water bottle cage could be mounted to it as it does not extend out far enough for a cage and bottle to clear the saddle. It was difficult to mount. The plastic and metal pieces seemed lightweight like it would not be durable holding a bottle filled with water under bumpy road conditions. I returned it.

Great product
Used this mount for the past two years no problems at all. The mount was mounted to the stroker handle bars for my daughter , last summer it worked well on a 27 day self support bicycle camping trip. I am going to buy one for this summers tour.

Solution for an extra water bottle
This did the job when I needed an extra water bottle on my mountain bike. It is fairly easy to install, but I don't want the main attachment piece permanently on my bike, so I removed it. Won't use too often.

Yes, it will adjust to vertical or horizontal mounts.
