Extra Length Keeps Noise/Splash Low
Have used this on an inflatable tandem and a sit-on-top plastic fishing kayak. In both cases, the extra length lets me avoid raising the paddle so high in the air which minimizes how much splash and noise it makes. I don't know how much the splashing spooked the fish, but for fishing purposes, I have to believe it helps to avoid extra noise and splashing. The other advantage with a lower paddling angle is that less water ends up dripping into the boat, which is a welcome improvement, especially in the spring or fall, or at the beginning or end of the day when the air temperature is a little chilly.
Great all around paddle
This was the first Bending Branches Paddle that I ever purchased. This paddle has traveled with me across the country and was in my hand to win the Kayak Bass Fishing National Championship in 2016 on Kentucky Lake. This paddle will flat out last. The blades are strong and responsive when paddling and tough enough to handle the rocks on the rivers I fish.
Great paddle at a great price
I got this in 260 cm and could not be happier. The added length is perfect for a taller person (I'm 6'3") fishing from an elevated seat on a kayak. The paddle is very well-made and has useful features like the ruler on the handle, the different notches for variable offset of the blades, and the integrated lure retriever notch cut into one of the blades. I've used this paddle for almost 20 hours of paddling since I got it a couple of weeks ago, and I have not once regretted the purchase.
Love mine.
It's quiet, with very little splash. And and that retrieval notch in the port side blade has saved me a lot of money getting hard baits off of rocks and submerged wood. It also works getting them out of trees...but don't ask me how that happened. ;-)
Excellent paddle, but this is the old picture
The images attached to this record are the old images with the "BB" logo and the smoky green color. The new paddle that came today has the tree-like Bending Branches logo and is more of a spruce color.
Best Fishing Paddle ever
I like it so much, I bought a second one after I broke the first one. (Drove over it with my truck)
Great Paddle
The Angler Classic is the first paddle I bought 5 years ago when I started kayak fishing. It’s a great, very durable, very affordable paddle that does its job perfectly!
Yeah it works well, with perks!
Paddle works as expected. The line-grabber is a great addition for me as I paddle in mangroves alot and remove discarded line and hooks.
Defective paddle
Ordered the angler paddle specifically for the cut out in one of the paddles there has been quite helpful to untangle fishing line‘s period despite this cut out being clearly visible in the project when I ordered at the paddle I receive does not have this card out period why order a more expensive paddle with a specific feature and then not get that feature? Very disappointed.
Great paddle.
The classic is the perfect middle of the road paddle. Little lighter than the scout but just as strong. A great paddle for the Angler looking to spend a little more time on the water.
