Sizing Notes

Select the letter that matches your shoe size range. Letters on all Superfeet products represent heel cup width. For Superfeet insoles to work properly, your heels must be "in" the heel cup entirely, not "on" the heel cup on either side of foot. Stand on a pair of Superfeet in the letter that corresponds closest to your shoe size making sure your heel fits nice and snug "in" the heel cup. If that heel cup is too small, select the next letter size up. After you find your perfect heel-cup fit, simply trim the excess foam (using the sock liner from any of your shoes as a guide) and insert the new trimmed insoles into your shoes (removing the sock liners first).

Green Superfeet vs Carbon Superfeet
Priscilla
I am a long time user of the green Superfeet insole. I use them in all my shoes, athletic shoes and boots. I have a high arch and these provide great support. However I have one pair of very flat hiking shoes where the green insole was too thick. So I decided to try the carbon insole instead of giving away the shoes. Although the arch height is not as pronounced as the green insoles, the carbon insoles support was adequate and the thinner size is perfect for these shoes.

This insert solved some issues, created others. In all fairness, perhaps it was the shoes I inserted them into, but the insert tore the Goretex linning in my Northface Hedgehog GTX shoes. Shoe size is 11.5, insert was "F" trimmed to same size as originals. The carbon fiber footbed is very rigid, not flexible enough to prevent cutting the lining. One other anomalie, the arch, though considered low volume and low arch, is pretty tall and actually made my arch ache a bit. Most likely because I was not use to them. But after a strenuous hike, kept my feet from tiring and held the foot solid in the shoe. No toe bruizing or blisters wearing these inserts. For this, I am at the other end of the spectrum they are great. Recommended with caution of the shoe you put them in.

Nice...but

As I'm now adding SuperFeet supports to ALL my older shoes, I thought his "thin style" would be great for some tighter shoes. Apparently not as thin as I thought they might be. LOOKS pretty thin, but not a big difference in space usage for the price (IMHO). Don't know if they could actually be made thinner. Still, they provide better support than the women's half insoles when I can fit these in, so that's a plus. Maybe worth having a pair around. 3.5-4 star. (maybe get them on sale ;-) I'll likely buy another pair to fit in some current size sandals, but not cut them down so much-- so they fill the front of the toe area and stay 'invisible'.

Good with modifications

When used in some shoes such as the Salomon Sonic 3 you will find that you now squeak like a duck. The cause of the problem is the plastic base material used in the insole and the sound produced from its flex within the shoe. Not all shoes will make this sound but it can be solved by covering the black part of the insole with gaff tape. Really Superfeet should consider placing a gaff tape like coating on the insole bottom to begin with to fix the squeak problem for good.

Highly recommend!

I did a Superfeet comparison test and discovered how much I love these! They are light, but make a substantial difference in my shoes. They add much-needed arch support and overall structure to the shoe. This is hard to describe, but I have shoes that sort of collapse under my feet and these make them feel more stable. Compared to other Superfeet models, these don't add bulk to the shoe. This is critical because I have wide feet and the thicker models made my shoes too tight. I have already purchased 2 extra sets because I want them in all of my shoes!

REI has the cure for debilitating foot pain

A lifetime of walking on extremely flat feet finally caused pretty significant arthritis and major limitations on walking. I used to walk 5 or more miles when I suddenly developed pain severe enough to limit even household weight bearing. Cold packs, massage, OTC analgesics offered no relief. A podiatrist recommended I try Superfeet insoles instead of expensive orthopedics and recommended I buy them at REI because they wouldn’t try to redirect me to sell me a store brand. I bought the Superfeet Carbon and within an hour the pain began to lessen! I wear them in all my shoes, sandals, and boots; everything. I’ve gone from having foot pain 24/7 and giving up walking, to being pain free and walking 5 miles a day. I’m thankful that REI sells this brand, keeps a complete line of sizes and support levels in stock and employ helpful a sales associates; they provide knowledgeable, friendly service.

worth every penny

I underwent a major ankle surgery a year ago, and since then have been unable to wear many of my shoes due to lack of support. I bought these for everyday use - work shoes, gym shoes, etc. and they make a WORLD of difference. I am finally able to wear shoes I was unable to wear before, and most importantly with no pain! I find it imperative to remove the shoes original insole and replace with this insert, and viola it’s perfect. I will be buying many more of these in the future.

The Carbon version is good but support feels less

A new tech material in a existing product I have used for 15+ years so I tried it. Not bad but I felt the arch was lower height than I am use to. I purchased one of each material and compared. The benefit is weight reduction of some gram or ounce amount, not needed. I may try again in next 6 months. Why? I buy a new pair of shoes and super feet every six months. This keeps me away from the Plantar Fasciitis doctor.

Low profile, good heel fit

The problem with most insoles (beside the fact that they're made from cheap, unsupportive plastic and foam) is that they raise your heel too high with excessive padding, which changes the architecture of your shoe so that the heel cup doesn't grip the back of your foot as effectively, which causes slipping, rubbing, and blistering. These insoles don't seem to do that as badly due to their thin, low profile.

Just enough for a flat foot

I went into the store to get help with find the right insoles and the lovely staff found just the right thing for me! I was wearing in some new hiking boots and my flat feet were giving me some trouble. These are great with just a tiny bit of arch support to give me the support I need through backpacking. They've been perfect!
