Rated 2 out of 5 by from Narrow range of adjustment I bought these without realizing Tifosi makes several different photochromatic lenses with different ranges of light transmission. The "Polarized Fototec" lenses included with these sunglasses have a range of only 12% to 32% light transmission. In other words, they never get very light. I didn't even think they were changing at all until I checked the Tifosi website and found this data. I ended up exchanging these for the same frames with the "Light Night Fototec" lenses, which have a range of 30% - 76% transmission. Those are more like what I imagined photochromatic lenses would be. Also, during the brief time I wore these, I remembered how polarized lenses make screens difficult to read -- my phone, my heart rate monitor, my car stereo -- so that was another reason I prefer the other lenses.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent trail-running and overall sunglasses For years I didn't wear sunglasses while running, because I couldn't find any that were affordable, lightweight, and didn't fog. Enter the Tifosi Tyrant 2.0 - my new favorite piece of trail running gear! These glasses are perfect for trail running and ultras. You can't wear them in the dark (they are sunglasses y'all), but they do get light enough for dawn and dusk in my experience. More importantly, they are neutral enough to wear for your entire run - both in full sun, with reflection off rocks or snow, and in the shade of tree cover. I've worn them the entire day without fogging, and they are light enough to not be noticeable on your face. Stoked that I can now run in sunglasses - highly recommended!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sunglasses, great value, have owned 5+ pairs I have been through at least 5 pairs of these sunglasses. They are tough and well made, the problem is I lose them or they get crushed on various adventures. The polarization is legit and it works. I take these fishing and see underwater extremely well. I fell in love with polarized sunglasses about 15 years ago and can never go back. It is worth it. Colors just seem to pop out at you with polarization. Lightweight and comfortable. They do not fog up. They seem to protect from the wind though I do not use them for cycling or biking. I can't really comment on the criticisms of the lense "response" to low light conditions. I only know that I do still use these in early morning and early twilight conditions for fishing, and they do fine. I also use them in full blown sunshine with the high noon sun reflecting off the water into my face and they suffice for this as well despite my sensitive blue eyes. One note- the "smoke" shade is rather transparent so if you want sunglasses with the feature of concealing your direction of gaze (ie for playing poker, staring at wimmen, etc) these will not meet your needs. Overall, great sunglasses. The best value outdoors/activity geared polarized sunglasses there are in my opinion. Have bought 5+ pairs and will continue to buy them.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Night Riding I bought these specifically for riding during the day and at night. Once the sun goes down, these are way too dark to ride with. Even with my 800 lumen Cygolite on high beam. The Fototec does transition, but it just doesn't get clear enough in the dark. Otherwise, they are great for just daytime riding. Even when riding directly into the sun. Very light weight and blocks wind nicely.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good first test I bought these sunglasses primarily for spring skiing & biking, especially for those occasions when conditions change from cloudy to sunny during the day. I didn't get a chance to try them out skiing because we had snow instead of sun (but I'm OK with that!), but wearing them around town they worked as I'd hoped - changing from lighter to darker and v/v as conditions changed. They are very light and comfortable to wear.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Disappointed These glasses were purchased expressly for the ability to sense light, or lack of light. The lens is too dark after sunset or indoors. And too light in the sunshine. The fit was acceptable as well as the polarization to reduce glare.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect biking glasses I have great polarized glasses for my work on the water but they were often too dark on bike trails that go through forest. I like riding in shade - not road - and these actually enhance the contrast in low light situations.
