Great Balance of Price, Performance and Quality

I mountain bike with these and the positioning of the glasses on the face is spot on; higher up on the nose. Not too close so it gets fogged or gets sweat on them from the forehead. I also like the price, not just because I'm cheap, but because rugged use mountain biking means these may get damaged sooner or later. Dropping $200 on Oakley is just not a sensible option for me even though they have superb optics (I do have Oakley snow goggles... no major damage potential there). I found the photochromic shade of these to be just right in full exposed sun and they were fine in shaded tree sections as well. The fit was nice and didn't give me any noticeable pressure points or extensive slippage on the nose. These slip under the helmet straps as opposed to my older glasses which went over the straps. I like this style better and if you take you helmet off and your glasses don't go flying onto the ground. My only "complaint" is that the aesthetics a bit "techier" than I like. I like the simpler, cleaner look of something like a POC (?). But these are purpose built, so I don't care that much.

Disappointing Performance

The fit, style and comfort are great, the functionality of the polychromatic lenses is not. I bought them for their ability to adjust to changing light conditions but I cannot see any difference in lens darkening/lightening. Disappointing performance.

Great Trail Glasses

When wearing my Maui's while hiking or mountain biking I often find they are a little dark while under canopy. The Tifosi Fototec photochromic are great, not too dark while out on the trails, it allows you to see all the tree roots and other objects in front of you on darker days, mornings to evening. These glasses are definitely not for driving but will do in a pinch. I purchased with the intent of using as safety glasses while out on late evening or night riding. I found I like them much more then I thought I would, I never really thought about needing a pair of glasses that were not so dark. Not for use direct bright sunlight, after purchasing I thought I made a mistake looking at how light the tint was, I was wrong they work great for what I needed.

Perfect Glasses for a Leisure Athlete

I bought these sunglasses because I wanted a pair of moderately priced sunglasses that I could use while mountain biking at my local trails which have a mix of both shaded and non-shaded areas. I've used these glasses for 6 or so rides since I got them and I've been really happy with them. I've noticed the glasses don't get as dark in sunny conditions as the photos show but it has never bothered me. These glasses are perfect for any self-described leisure athlete that wants sunglasses that do well in a variety of conditions.

Is my second pair. Will use at pool this summer

My rating based on the brown tint Tifosi polarized photochromic sunglasses already have. Use as my driving sunglasses. Awesome. Plus they lighten up enough wear them into Costco where the lights are too bright...Will be using the new purchase at the outdoor pool this summer. The polarized lenses should have cut down on water glare. Even got a great deal got 10% off since was the last pair, the demonstrator. Then applied my REI dividend too.

Lenses keep breaking where they insert into frame

Second pair of Tifosi sunglasses and lenses breaking is a recurring problem. First pair, with interchangeable lenses, lasted 8 months. Second pair (not interchangeable) lasted 17 months before the lenses broke. Stress fracture at the edge where the lens inserts into the frame. I rarely used the interchange option. If I had frequently used it, I suspect the lenses would have failed even sooner. I won't buy another pair. :(

Decent sunglasses but wrong lenses

I ordered these Tifosi Crit Fototec sunglasses online. They were pictured in the grey/yellow color way. What I eventually received was the standard Tifosi Crit sunglasses in grey/blue color way with the "smoky" lens and no photochromic technology. I don't feel like returning them since the "smoky" lens is fine for most of my riding, but I think others should know that if you order them online they may send you the wrong glasses. Someone else wrote that in another review below as well.

I keep loosing lenses

I like these sunglasses for a variety of reasons, including they are good for bicycling and they are chromatic, which allows me to wear them with a strap all day. However, the lenses keep falling out, and I end up having to buy new lenses, which are almost expensive as the sunglasses themselves. After purchasing two pairs, I am moving on to another brand.

These are incredible sunglasses.

The venting prevents fogging. They don’t slide in your face when you sweat. In addition the nose piece is very comfortable. I have a pair of Maui Jim’s at 3 times the price and they dig into my nose. I have two pairs of Tifosi sunglasses one has a reader lens insert. Both are fabulous.
