Love it - like all of Kuhl's products
I bought this shirt shortly before a trip to Glacier National Park, where I wore it during several hikes, and have since worn in several times since. The large size was a perfect for me: 5' 10", 205 pounds, slightly built. The fabric is light and wicks sweat and moisture, and during longer hikes with a pack when I soaked the back of it, once I took my pack off, the material dried quickly. I have another Kuhl shirt that I love as well, along with two pairs of their shorts, all of which are my first picks whenever I venture out in warmer weather and will be active.
I can't put my arms up
If it fit well, I'd rate it higher. The material is light and crisp, the color is great, the thing is well made. The fatal flaw of this shirt for me is the fit at the shoulders. If I reach to ride a bike or hang a hammock, the sleeves bind enough to be both uncomfortable and unattractive. This was especially surprising as I'm not slim and the shirt fits around my gut perfectly but is tight at the shoulders. I usually have the reverse of this problem with high-end outdoor or sporty brands. This would be a great shirt for drinking beer in a climate controlled space, not great for active outdoor pursuits.
Hubby wears it all the time
I got this for my hubby hoping he'd like it. His reaction wasn't exactly over-the-top - but suddenly he was wearing it all the time. He wore it Scotland, wore it during our week-long canoeing trip in northern Minnesota, wore it at Telluride Bluegrass Festival (where we were sitting in the hot sun all day), and will wear it out any time it's clean enough. His one complaint is that it's not great for smell management - would *love* to see an antimicrobial version of this. Other than that, it looks nice, travels well (doesn't wrinkle), breathes well, and generally is a great shirt.
KUHL has changed the fit of the Response shirt
I've been buying and wearing KUHL Response shirts for years, and I used to love them. Unfortunately KUHL has changed the fit of the shirt recently (maybe they have changed manufacturer...?). Most notably the chest pockets are much narrower and placed higher up on the chest then on previous shirts. The new fit feels weird, and the chest pockets are pretty much useless now. I prefer the old design and seriously consider returning all 4 shirts I just bought from REI.
Too Long
I really liked the color of this shirt and the fit except the length. This was a small and I'm 5'7" 150lbs. The shirt was about 2-3" too long and looked more like a short button down dress. It fit perfectly everywhere else. I usually love Kuhl's clothing but not this shirt.
Nice shirt, but holds odors
I really like this shirt - it's comfortable and stylish. I own it in 3 colors. But I have noticed that the material really holds onto odors. I am an adult male of normal smelliness. No matter what I do, the BO smell from the armpit area can never be totally gotten rid of. It will smell clean after a wash, but the smell will quickly return upon wearing the item. I do not have this problem with other shirts, and feel it is the material used for this. Disappointing, because it is a very nice shirt.
I like it!
These shirts have great material and look good. I liked the first so much that I bought 2 more in different colors. They do run a little large. And in my opinion they run way too long. I took mine to the tailor and had 2 inches taken off the bottom. Now they look much more attractive! There was just too much fabric not needed at the bottom of the shirt. Now Perfect!
Shirts that fit
Thank you for carrying shirts for people that have athletic builds. 6’2”, 195, 32” waist. This shirt is cut lean in the body so it’s not like you’re wearing a tent. Take it out of the dryer right away and hang it, no ironing needed and it looks great. My son told me the Large looked better on me.
Comfortable shirt
Comfortable shirt, handy to throw on for a meal at a restaurant where you want to dress a bit nicer then T-shirts. Size runs a little small usually a L to Xl but this shirt required a XXL for proper shoulder fit.
Great feel albeit tight
Really like the cut and style of the shirt on me. Not a buff guy by any means but it is really tight on my arms!
