Perfect rain jacket
I am short, at 5'1", and I wear a medium or small usually in adults. I purchased a boy's large in the all black, and it fits perfectly. It was also a fraction of the price of an adults. This rain jacket is light and perfect for warmer temperatures. I wear it hiking or out on the town. It rolled up very small for a recent backpacking trip through Mexico.
Excellent quality - worth the price
We travelled to dreary Ireland recently, and the rain did not disappoint. We were on the fence about spending a lot on a waterproof jacket for my son, but chose to buy a size up and were not disappointed. This jacket was spacious for an 8-year old boy (65lbs), but not unmanageable for him. It rolled up quickly into the hood, and kept him dry on long walks in Irish rain. Good extras in terms of pockets and elastic cuffs, and there was no zipper drama. We’ll layer under it this snow season, and see how it performs as an outer layer in the wet snow, but we are confident this will be staple in the wardrobe for a few years. Recommended purchase for wet climates - worth the few extra dollars.
Best jacket for children
My son is delighted with the jacket. The jacket perfectly protects from the wind (checked in the Ukrainian Carpathians) and from the rain (we were caught in the pouring rain when riding bicycles, and remained dry).

Great Rain Jacket
As a relatively small woman, I appreciate that I can wear a PreCip jacket that costs less than those marketed for 'Women.' The jacket is sized such that it allows for layering, and plenty of movement. The jacket keeps the rain and wind out, which is exactly what you need.
Great Jacket!
We purchased this for our son as a rain coat but also as a spring jacket to wear while spring skiing. With a light layer underneath it was perfect!
What we needed
I need waterproof shells for my kids that are the same quality I expect for my husband and me... the kids don't like thick bulky winter coats, so we just wear these over a fleece for snow, or alone for rain. Best of both worlds and I know Marmot quality will endure as hand me downs too. Thanks for having more gender neutral color options too, for parents who dont want to over buy stuff!!

Fits Right and Very Light Weight
We're going to Asia in the rainy season which is also hot and humid. The PreCip jacket is very light weight and fits true to size, my boy who is 8 and above average in height has the medium which will allow him to use it this year and next. My daughter is 10 and of average height and the large fits perfectly and is good for two seasons as well.

might run big
I really like mine and wanted a rain/winter shell for my 4.5yr old. Got the S as he's 42", 38lbs, and it's a tent on him even with a fleece jacket underneath. I wanted to post this to let others know if your child is between sizes, it might be better to go with the smaller size than size up like I did.

Great Rain Coat
Love this Rain Coat for my 6 year old son. He wears it to the bus stop endplays in the rain and it keeps him perfectly dry. We actually ordered them for the whole family. We love them. The coat is just a shell so its great to wear when the weather is also warm and rainy.

Good quality with some design drawbacks
I like the overall quality. However I bought adult jackets a few years ago, and this child version is not same. I prefer the adult version with hand pockets with zippers, adjustable wrists with velcros, simple front zipper and hood designs.
