As a frequent traveler of the I-5 from San Diego,CA to Olympia,WA and back, I encounter all sorts of weather from heavy rain to snow (gotta love those mountain passes) and lots of cross winds. This Thule roof box has been outstanding its quick and easy to put on your roof and take off and it fits on about anything with cross bars. Its light enough that I've carried it by myself, its durable, over the course of two years doesn't even show wear. The best thing is nothing wet, dirty, smelly, drippy, or sandy has to go in your vehicle for the drive home. I highly recommend if your looking for a middle of the road roof box. Great value! Extremely Poor Quality

What a piece of junk, and the support is even worse. The key that locks the box accidentally broke off and got stuck in the lock. I could not get it out, including have a locksmith come to try to take it out. Thule's response: buy an entirely new Roof Box. I know have to buy a new $600 box because their design breaks down if a $8 key has an issue with it.

I really like this tipper for a smaller option!

I shopped around for quiets but for a cargo box. I was headed on a roadtrip from California to Michigan and I own a Prius. I wanted something that wasn’t too big but could hold a lot. This topper ended up being amazing! Super easy to install, didn’t make noise when driving 75+ on highways, the side entrance was totally fine for me, I feel like there were quite a few reviews about how that was annoying for people. I loved the size, it held so much but never felt like it was too big. Overall awesome purchase and so glad I did it! Not having all our camping gear in the car was amazing and now I have an awesome topper for future trips closer to home :)

Moving across the country

I was moving across the country and needed extra space on my Subaru Impreza. This box worked perfectly and did not interfere with the hatch. It is very easy to attach to the crossbars. I stored clothing, shoes, and camping equipment in here and didn't have any problems with my stuff getting wet. I did put the stuff in plastic bags just to make sure as I drove through many rain storms. I went 4,000 miles with this and did not have problems with it making noise, I noticed a bit of wind resistance when I was driving through the mountains, but other than that there were no problems. The mileage loss for me was about 2-3 miles per gallon. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase.

Thule car box works great

The Thule M roof box worked like a champ on top of my 2018 Outback. No wind noise, no leaks & easy to fill by standing in the door. I installed 2 sets of bicycle hoists with jam cleat like locking mechanisms to my garage ceiling, use 2 2x2, 42" long boards with U-bolts to store the Thule box. The box is easy to use, easy to carry by 1 person (I'm 75), and easy to store.

Versatile, no bulky just what you really need

Great space for a family of 5, no need to go to CL and have troubles at parking garages. Storage easy with two Bike lifts and 2 4X2 48’ as rails. Could easy fit sledges, paddle boards, snowboards and fishing rods.

Pulse M Experience with Subaru Outback & Crosstrek

I purchased the Pulse M and have used it on two recent round trips. In January round trip from Cleveland to Hilton Head Island, SC mounted on 2019 Subaru Crosstrek. Normal mileage with the Crosstrek is 29-30 mpg. With the Pulse M we took about a 5 mpg hit averaging 24-26 mpg. We also took a trip in February from Cleveland to Manhattan Beach, CA with our 2017 Outback Grand Touring. We normally get 24-26 mpg and with the Pulse M again took about a 5 MPG hit in mileage. We averaged 19-21 mpg. The Pulse M is easy for one person to install on either vehicle taking no more than 10 minutes.

Perfect fit, perfect box

I got this box a little over 2 weeks ago and have already put it through its paces. Been on multiple trips up the mountain with ski gear (everything but the skis) and been on a 400 mile round trip camping trip. I have nothing negative to say about it. Easy to install and remove, takes literally 5 minutes. Once on the roof it doesn't make a sound from the wind or anything else. When you hit a bump the roof of the box rattles a little bit but nothing major and usually only noticeable if the window is down. Love this box and would recommend it to anyone.

Only Opens on One Side

I had to replace a previous Thule cargo box that got damaged, but was disappointed with this similar-size alternative from the same company. I got it home only to learn this roof box opens only on the passenger side of the car. That makes it hard to load when you want to reach the far side of the box. Also, the "claws" or "grips" that tighten onto the car's crossbars do not actually attach to this box as they did in my previous Thule model. These merely slide into rubberized slots. But we have to remove this box from the car when it's not in use. Those "grips" immediately pop up back into the box as soon as you set it on the ground. This means we basically have to re-assemble it every time I need to use it. What a hassle. I decided this was not for me and returned it for a full refund. (Thank you, REI for your return policy.)

Perfect Storage Lock Freezes

Very spacious for storage; held 2 metal/folded flat dog crates (mid sized dogs), 2 carry on suitcases, 3 bags the size of rolled up sleeping bags, and there was still room available. Drove from North Carolina to Michigan in December in rain, snow, and a slushy mix, everything stayed dry and sealed. However, once we arrived in single digit temperatures, the lock did not engage. You would think a company that manufactures in Sweden would know this? We used a strap to secure the box until we returned to warmer weather. Still satisfied with our purchase. How often will you be in single digit temps with a roof cargo box anyways? Excellent quality and very little effect on how the car handles or gas mileage and no added noise.

love my lil $500 plastic box

bought this in march of 2022. traveled across the country several times. this was on my last forester from 48k miles to 105k miles and ive gladly had it on my new car for 1,000 miles now. only thing is that after being in storage for a month, covered, the lock kinda seized up and i thought the whole thing was a goner... bunch of wd40 + some tlc bc the whole thing was dirrrty, then its back in good sliding shape. it definitely takes gas mileage down; ive calculated to a solid 3 mpg. but the amount of stuff i can fit in here is insane once you know how to get the most out of every nook. i also find that more water gets in through the front if your car is just sitting out in the rain, but less so when you're driving. i always stuff sleeping bag, blankets etc in the back or very top so they are least likely to get wet. every once in awhile, gotta reach in to check that all the leggies are tight & centered. the box tends to slide to one side over time. these things are expensive, and i feel like i couldve spent way more and had the same opinions, so i'm glad i got this one. mostly used for camping + trad climbing gear for me, occasionally another person, and a dog. car is usually full too depending on the trip. couldn't imagine having kids, where would i put them?
