Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple, lightweight backpack at a reasonable price Contrary to another review, the front pocket on my recently purchased Venturesafe 25L GII backpack in May 2014 has two zippers on the smaller front pocket. It easily holds a Sony NEX-7, extra lenes, associated accessories, a small 11" laptop (and associated accessories), and the other miscellaneous stuff I normally carry (headphones, etc) with ease. Many backpacks of similar size may weigh the same, but have fewer thoughtful security features. This replaced a smaller Tumi backpack that was much more expensive and much less comfortable. While none of the security features are amazing and will prevent a theft, they'd all serve to frustrate a would-be thief to look elsewhere, regardless of where I travel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple, sturdy, great features. I got this bag because I like the anti-theft features---I work out of a cafe sometimes. I didn't want something too big on me (I'm 5'1) and this was enough for carrying my 15 inch macbook pro, two folder files and two thick textbooks and a little more. There aren't a lot of different pockets--which I prefer because I don't like digging around different pockets for an office bag. The two side pockets are good for water bottles, an umbrella or a power cord. It was exactly what I was looking for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best personal bag for air travel This is the second PacSafe VentureSafe 25L GII Travel Daypack laptop backpack that I've purchased. The first one I gave to my significant other because he needed the backpack for his laptop and he really liked the design and the fit. Simple, no frills, RFID safe pockets for IDs, easy access to front compartment and theft proof zippers. I highly recommend this backpack.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great Pack with One Major Design Flaw I bought this for a 2 week trip to Berlin. I knew that I'd be using the metro and traveling by train often and the security features, particularly the zipper locks, gave me some peace of mind. The overall design is great: minimal, lightweight, attractive, and comfortable enough. The only issue I have is with the zipper design of the small compartment, and to me it is a significant flaw, especially considering the relatively high price of the pack. The main compartment has two zippers which can be locked together, but opened in the center when you need to access the compartment. The small compartment only has one zipper. It can be locked, but when you open it, and if you have more than just a couple small items in the compartment, items may fall out. Two zippers would solve this problem because you could open the compartment top center. I really don't know why it was designed this way. My Jansport pack has a similar compartment with two zippers, so it's not a size issue. I can only assume it was an oversight. I didn't bother returning it because it otherwise serves its function well, but I can't give it more than a lukewarm review. I'd still recommend it, but only if you're convinced this won't be an issue. My Jansport pack is used more often, and I only use the Pacsafe when I anticipate being in crowded areas. I just need to remember not to keep anything valuable in the small compartment.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice features; straps not adjustable enough I got this backpack for some international travel to large urban areas. I really like the security features. The zipper clasps are easy to use, there are a good number of pockets, and the backpack holds a lot of stuff. It is pretty easy to get into without your things falling out. I like the hydration option, although I have not used it. I also really like how nondescript it is- it looks like any other backpack, and the shape is great: when stuffed full, it doesn't look like it. My biggest gripe is the adjustability of the straps. I find the straps are set a bit wide and don't cinch up enough for me, so the backpack hangs lower than I find comfortable. It seems to have been designed for a longer torso and wider shoulders. I imagine anyone shorter than me (I'm 5'10") would have even more of a problem with this. Otherwise, I find it super useful and well-designed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Product for Limited Use I use this backpack daily for work (construction management). It is definitely the best product at this price point that I have seen, and I do appreciate the durability and protective feature. The only drawback is that the capacity is a little les than I expected.
