Rated 5 out of 5 by from Webbing straps - can you go wrong? I used these straps on a recent backpacking trip to secure my Thermarest to the top of my backpack. No drama, they got the job done and looked good (not that this really matters).

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Metal hooks too weak I purchased these accessory straps to hang a bear canister from the frame of my pack. The bear canister weighed about 15 pounds with the week's food supply inside. The metal hooks on these straps were not strong enough for this load and kept bending open more and more. I consider myself fortunate that they stayed together for the entire trip.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can-do Attitude I got a pair of the smaller width version of these after searching for bungees to use on a biking trip. During that trip I discovered how simply wonderful these are for strapping larger gear that doesn't fit in my pannier onto my bike rack, so I purchased more (including a couple pairs of these wider ones). Bungees always bother me; the length isn't quite right, when pulled taught they squish the gear, it's always a struggle to get them situated right, and those hooks! With these, all you have to do is loop them loosely around the gear, get them in the right location, pull the end through the buckle and then tighten. Cinch them down and you have a well-secured, lightweight solution. They are easy to throw into a pannier and have just in case.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works as designed! I bought these straps to secure items to my bike rack when I stopped in at REI to pickup items I had ordered. They held my gear snug and never budged or back off even endured rough rutted bike path.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from They look nice but broke first use One of the buckles bent in half and snapped into on the first use. Very little pressure used.
